AT 55.162 STATE EMPLOYEES IN JUNE - WHERE WERE RECRUITMENTS MADE - Filenews 13/7
The number of civil servants in June 2026 amounted to 55.162, recording an increase of 333 people or 0,6% compared to the corresponding month of 2025.
According to data from the Statistical Service, employment in the Public Service decreased by 1.2%, while in the Security Forces a marginal decline of 0.1% was recorded.
On the contrary, the Educational Service recorded an increase of 3.5%, the largest among the individual services.
At the level of key categories of staff, the largest increase was recorded by fixed-term employees, the number of which increased by 2.9% year-on-year.
According to the Statistical Service, no decrease was recorded in any of the main categories of government employees.
24.7% increase in the Educational Service
In the individual categories of staff, the largest percentage increase was recorded among permanent employees of the Educational Service, with an increase of 24.7%.
The largest percentage decrease was recorded by fixed-term employees in the Security Forces, with a drop of 99.6%.
This significant decrease is mainly attributed to the completion and non-extension of fixed-term contracts in July 2025.
For the period January-June 2026, the average number of government employees increased by 0.2% compared to the first half of 2025.
