TAXISnet PORTAL EXPECTED TO OPEN LATER THIS COMING WEEK - DEADLINE 31 OCTOBER- Filenews 14/6
By the end of the new week, the Personal Income Statement, without accounts, for the tax year 2025 is expected to be posted on the TAXISnet System, marking the start of the submission process.
As stated by the Commissioner of Taxation, Sotiris Markidis, the deadline for the submission of the Return, as well as for the payment of taxes and contributions, has been set for October 31, 2026.
The posting of the Declaration on TAXISnet will allow taxpayers to proceed electronically with its submission for the tax year 2025, within the deadline that has been set.
At the same time, he stated that the number of Declarations for 2025 is expected to be slightly increased, compared to the 337,400 Declarations that were definitively submitted for 2024.
"To assure taxpayers that we have taken all the deliberate actions to give all the necessary time for the compliance of the people who have this obligation," he added.
For this purpose, according to Mr. Markides, with the Decree (K.D.P. 260/2026) issued on Friday 12/6/2026, following a decision of the Council of Ministers, the deadline for the submission of the declaration and the payment of taxes and contributions that may arise, without the imposition of any interest and charges is October 31, 2026.
The Tax Commissioner reminded that the obligation to submit an Individual Income Statement for the tax year 2025 is for employees, pensioners and self-employed whose Gross Income for the year 2025 exceeds the amount of €19,500 (nineteen thousand five hundred euros).
He noted that the late submission of the Personal Income Statement for the tax year 2025 carries a financial burden of €150 compared to the €100 brought by the late submission of returns of previous years, an increase that occurred in the context of the tax reform. He said that the change in the financial burdens is aimed at increasing tax compliance.
Referring to the content of the 2025 Personal Income Statement, Mr. Markides told KYPE that it maintains all the automations that significantly facilitate taxpayers in filling it out.
Indicatively, he stated that, with the entry of the identifying information (KA, Date of Birth and Gender) in the Income Statement, the amount of the pension as well as the relevant deductions (income tax and GHS contributions) are automatically filled, based on data drawn from the General Accounting Office and the Social Insurance Services. In addition, the Tax Commissioner said that with the introduction of the same identification data for persons who earn income as self-employed, the system automatically retrieves and fills in Social Insurance and GHS contributions.
He added that in some parts of the Declaration, information that had been declared in the previous tax year is pre-filled, such as the details of the employer (AFT and name) and the details of the insurance companies (AFT, name, start date and insured amount).
"As in previous years, the system automatically calculates the total amounts and transfers the relevant data to the 'Tax Calculation' part where the amount of income tax, GHS contributions and the Special Contribution for Defense is calculated," he underlined.
At the same time, Mr. Markides drew the attention of taxpayers that a Declaration must be submitted definitively (Final Submission) and added that Declarations that are "In Provisional Receipt" are not considered to have been received and are pending.
"Immediately after the Final Submission of the Return, in the event that an amount of tax and/or contribution is due, the debt is created at the Tax Portal and is required to be paid electronically by the deadline without interest and charges," he added.
An increased number of Declarations is expected
Besides, the Commissioner of Taxation told KYPE that last year, by the end of the deadline for the timely submission of the Personal Income Statement for the tax year 2024, 342,600,000 Returns were processed and 337,400 had been submitted Definitively.
"This year, the number of Declarations that will be submitted is expected to increase slightly due to the continuous expansion of the tax base," he concluded.
