STORMS, HAIL AND STRONG WINDS LIKELY INLAND AND MOUNTAINOUS AREAS

STORMS, HAIL AND STRONG WINDS LIKELY INLAND AND MOUNTAINOUS AREAS - Filenews 6/6

Weak low pressure and relatively unstable air masses temporarily affect the area.

Today, the weather will initially be mostly clear, although on the coast there will be low clouds locally. At noon and after, however, increased local clouds that will be observed, are expected to give isolated rains and an isolated thunderstorm, mainly in the mountains and in areas inland. In a storm, hail may fall. Winds will be mainly southwest to northwest, initially light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and gradually moderate until the afternoon and on the coast up to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will generally be a little rough. The temperature will rise to around 33 degrees inland, around 26 on the west and southwest coasts, around 29 on the rest of the coasts and around 24 degrees in the higher mountains.

Tonight, the weather will be mostly clear, although locally there will be increased low clouds, especially in the west. The winds will gradually become downhill, weak, 3 Beaufort and the sea will be calm to a little rough. The temperature will drop to around 16 degrees inland, around 18 on the coast and around 12 degrees in the higher mountains.

On Sunday and Monday, the weather in most areas of the island will be mostly clear with temporary cloudiness, however increased local clouds that will be observed after noon are expected to give isolated rains, without ruling out the occurrence of an isolated storm, mainly in the mountains.

On Tuesday, increased local clouds will be observed from time to time, while after noon in the mountains, isolated rains are possible.

The temperature on Sunday will rise and until Tuesday it will remain at the same levels, thus fluctuating above the average climatic values of the season.
