PROTEST AGAINST THE ''STATE MAFIA'' - THEY DEMAND THE RESIGNATION OF SAVVIDIS-ANGELIDIS AND PUNISHMENT OF ALL THE GUILTY - Filenews 22/6

AKEL and VOLT are calling today at 18:30 for a protest rally outside the Legal Service for what the conclusion revealed about the "State Mafia", demanding, among other things, the resignations of Giorgos Savvidis and Savvas Angelidis as well as the punishment of all the guilty.

AKEL and VOLT, according to a statement, call for mobilization, on Monday, June 22, at 18:30, outside the Legal Service in Nicosia

The conclusion of the Anti-Corruption Authority for the book "State-Mafia" confirmed what society has been experiencing for years from the Anastasiades system of power. The huge entanglement and scandals of the Anastasiades-DISY government but also the practices of covering up corruption.

The offenses for which the former President of the Republic, N. Anastasiades and people close to him are being investigated, are extremely serious and shame the country. Criminal offenses that come to be added to the blatant conflict of interest, the manipulation of institutions and the arrogance of this closed system of interests that continues to this day by the current Christodoulides Government.

The impunity for all this cannot continue any longer. It is a universal demand of society to have an independent and impartial investigation into everything recorded in the Conclusion. To dismantle this system of vested interests and cover-ups. The rule of law and legality must prevail.

That is why we address an open call to society with demands:
Immediate resignation of G. Savvidis and S. Angelidis from the positions of Attorney General and Assistant Attorney General.
Independent investigation into the offenses recorded in the Report.
Bringing the suspects to justice, accountability and punishment of the guilty.
Restoration of institutions and the rule of law in our country.
