It is clear that the water situation in the Paphos district is today much better than last year. Speaking to "F", the president of EOA Paphos, Charalambos Pittokopitis, pointed out that the very good rainfall of this winter and the spring months, as well as the strengthening of desalination projects in Paphos, contributed to this.
Already, the permanent desalination plant of Kouklia, he said, from 15,000 cubic liters per day now produces 20,000, while the mobile units in Potima of Kissonerga, which currently give us 12,000 cubic liters per day, have also been put into full operation.
Mr. Pittokopitis also pointed out that the production capacity of the water refinery in Asprokremmos has additionally increased from 32,000 cubic liters per day to 42,000.
He also revealed that the efforts of EOA Paphos for the operation of a desalination plant in the Chrysochous apartment are now also paying off. Already, we have the political decision for the project and we have defeated the efforts for the exact location of the unit in a suitable area of Chrysochous Bay.
All these together, the president of the HOA Paphos remarked, give us the opportunity to manage with relative ease the holistic solution of the water problem in our region and in our country.
