PAPHOS BEACHES - EXTRAORDINARY MEETING TO TACKLE POLLUTION
The Mayor of Paphos Mr. Mayors called an extraordinary meeting to tackle sea pollution. Angelos Onisiforou for coming Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
These are large quantities of small-shredded plastics of unknown origin, which cause great nuisance to swimmers in a period of increased tourist traffic.
According to Mr. Onisiforou, the meeting will be attended by representatives of the Department of the Environment, the Cyprus Ports Authority, the Department of Fisheries and Marine Research, the Health Services, as well as other Municipalities of the province of Paphos.
The purpose of the meeting is to find solutions immediately and to tackle the problem as soon as possible.
