The Ministry of Health is working on a plan through which the amount granted to women undergoing the IVF process will be increased, with Neophytos Charalambidis stating, in fact, that the possibility of increasing the number of attempts for which women will receive the relevant assistance is also being studied.
At the same time, the Ministry of Health, he said, recognizes the need to support women who are in the menopausal stage. As he said, "this is an issue that requires further discussion, in order to form a comprehensive information framework, while in a second stage the relevant actions will be examined, possibly in relation to the dietary supplements that women usually take, at the suggestion of their doctor".
Allogeneic transplants stuck under the control of the Electromechanical Engineering
The licensing of the only clinic that submitted a request to the Ministry of Health and is fully equipped and staffed with specialized staff to perform allogeneic transplants in Cyprus has now been stuck in the electromechanical control.
At the same time, of course, Cypriot patients, mainly people with leukaemia, continue to suffer abroad, with all that this entails for themselves and their families.
As the Minister of Health stated in Parliament, "the process on the part of the Ministry of Health has been completed and now the control by the Electromechanical Service remains".
Neophytos Charalambides pointed out, however, that in cooperation with the Health Insurance Organization, "there is an intention to proceed with the process, so that the necessary medicines come to Cyprus, join the GHS and we are ready". "It's a matter of time," he said characteristically.
