MAJOR ROAD WORKS
Famagusta-Larnaca-Larnaca Airport Motorway
Cleaning works will be carried out on the motorway, in the section between Ayia Napa/Paralimni and Xylotymbos in both directions, from Monday 15/06/2026 to Friday 31/07/2026, from 07:00 to 16:00. Drivers are asked to be particularly careful and comply with the temporary road markings that will be placed.
On the Larnaca-Famagusta motorway, in the direction of Famagusta district, from the exit to the Xylotymbos community to the roundabout at the end of the motorway, from Monday 22 June 2026 until Friday 31 July 2026, between the hours of 07:00 and 16:00, pruning and cleaning works will be carried out on the central island of the motorway. During this time, the right lane in the direction from Larnaca to Paralimni will be closed in sections for a length of up to 3 kilometres.
Larnaca-Kofinou Motorway
On the Larnaca-Kofinou Motorway in both directions, from Friday 26/06/2026 until Wednesday 01/07/2026, daily except weekends between the hours of 08:30 – 16:30, pruning work will be carried out on the central island. During the work, the right lane, tangent to the central island, will be closed in sections in both directions for a length of approximately 3000 m. each time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
On sections of the motorway, in both directions towards Larnaca and towards Kofinou, from Tuesday 30 June 2026 to Thursday 09 July 2026, between the hours of 09:00 – 15:00, weekdays except Friday and weekends, emergency door installation works will be carried out on the central island. During the works, a section of the right lane, adjacent to the central island of the motorway, between the “Kalo Chorio” roundabout and Kofinou, will be closed sequentially for a length of 100 meters each time, simultaneously from both directions, at five different points.
Larnaca-Nicosia Motorway
On the Larnaca-Nicosia Motorway in both directions, in the section between the Rizoelia roundabout and the exit to Athienou, on Monday 29/06/2026 and Tuesday 30/06/2026, daily between the hours of 08:30 – 16:30, pruning work will be carried out on the central island. During the work, the right lane of traffic, tangential to the central island from both directions, will be closed in sections for a length of approximately 3000 m. each time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
Limassol Bypass
On the Limassol Bypass and the Paphos-Limassol Motorway, tree and shrub maintenance works will be carried out on the central island, during which the right lane will be partially closed in both directions for a length of approximately 1500 m and traffic will be diverted to the left lane. The works will be carried out as follows:
(a) During the period 04/05/2026 – 30/06/2026 between the hours of 07:00 – 15:00 outside Kyraki, on the section from Erimis junction to Petra tou Romiou.
Limassol-Paphos Motorway
On the Limassol-Paphos Motorway in both directions, in the section between the New Port roundabout and the Erimi interchange, on Saturday 27/06/2026, between the hours of 06:00 – 13:00, maintenance work will be carried out on the trees and shrubs of the central island. During the work, the right lane in both directions will be closed for a length of approximately 1500 m and traffic will be diverted to the left lane.
Nicosia District
In Nicosia and Aglantzia, as part of the project “Improvement of Famagusta Avenue in Nicosia”, works lasting 24 months are underway from 20 February 2025, and are expected to be completed by 22 February 2027. Specifically, they include Famagusta Avenue from its junction with Kalavryton Street to the Sopaz roundabout, approximately 1.7 km long and a secondary road network approximately 0.8 km long, consisting of a section of Kalavryton, Paphos, Madaris and Semelis streets.
On the Pedoulas – Kykkos – Kampos road, in the direction from Pedoulas to Kampos, from Friday 26/06/2026 until Monday 06/07/2026 (daily except weekends), from 07:00 in the morning until 15:00 in the afternoon, periodic maintenance works will be carried out on sections of the road. During the works, one lane of the road will be closed in sections for a length of approximately 100m, each time and traffic will be diverted to the other lane using Stop and Go.
In Nicosia and Aglantzia, on Famagusta Avenue, within the framework of the Project ¨Improvement of Famagusta Avenue in Nicosia, on Saturday 27/06/2026 between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., works will be carried out for the installation of a pipeline intersection of the Water Development Department. During the works, drivers are urged not to use Famagusta Avenue from the intersection with John Kennedy Avenue up to the roundabout on Larnaca Avenue. In the event that the use of Famagusta Avenue is deemed unavoidable by drivers, then traffic should be conducted as follows. Drivers heading from Larnaca roundabout to Sopaz will be diverted via Kantaras Street, Gogou Paraskevaidis and back to Famagusta Avenue. Drivers heading from Sopaz to Larnaca Avenue should use Dikomou, Asinou, Gogou Paraskevaidi and Katharis streets ending at Larnaca Avenue. For the above traffic arrangements, there will be appropriate temporary markings which drivers are advised to follow.
Limassol District
On the Kato Platres-Prodromos road, from Wednesday 24 June 2026 until Friday 31 July 2026, daily except Saturdays and Sundays, between the hours of 07:00–15:00, slope cleaning and installation of mesh on slopes will be carried out. During the works, one lane of traffic will be closed for a length of approximately 100 m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane using temporary traffic lights.
Larnaca District
In Oroklini, as part of the construction works of the Project “Improvement of the Larnaca - Dhekelia Coastal Road Phase C”, from Friday 27/03/2026, a section of approximately 400m of the southern lanes of the Coastal Road will be opened to traffic and will operate with two-way traffic using appropriate signage. In addition, from Friday 27/03/2026 and for three months, a section of Galaxia Street in Oroklini will remain closed, from the height of Fotis Pitta Street to Vachamon Street, and traffic will be diverted via Vachamon, Elpidos and Fotis Pitta Streets in Oroklini.
Also in Oroklini, as part of the construction works of the Project "Improvement of the Larnaca - Dhekelia Coastal Road Phase C", from Monday 27/04/2026 and for two months, in Oroklini, a section of approximately 200m of Mesopotamias Street, from the height of the Radisson Beach Hotel to the Organized Oroklini Beach will remain closed, and access will be provided via Oceanias and Afroditis Streets in Oroklini.
On Faneromenis Avenue in Larnaca, in the section from the Kamares Roundabout to the Agios Charalambos Leprosy Asylum Roundabout, from Monday 22 June 2026 to Monday 17 August 2026, construction works will be carried out for photo-controlled pedestrian crossings, sidewalks, green spaces and asphalt pavements, also within the framework of the Project “Priority Projects of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) of Larnaca – Implementation of Bus Lanes and Cycle Paths”. During the works, temporary traffic regulations will be implemented on Faneromenis Avenue, in a section of approximately 1,000 meters. During the works, the direction from the Kamares Roundabout to the city center will remain closed to traffic. Traffic heading to the city center via Faneromeni Avenue will be diverted via Nikou and Despina Pattihi Avenue, Kalymnou Street, Agiou Georgiou Makri Street, Kaisareias Street, 1st April Street, ending at the Agiou Charalambos Leprosy Roundabout. In addition, the right lane in the direction from the city center to the Kamares Roundabout will remain closed, with traffic being conducted via the left lane. For the purposes of serving local access, the existing one-way street on Verias, Paros, Naxos and Pierias Streets will be temporarily removed, which will temporarily operate as dead ends. Entry will be allowed exclusively to residents and authorized vehicles of the area.
Also in Larnaca, on Artemis Avenue and at its intersection with Okkoular Street, from Saturday 27/06/2026 until Tuesday 07/07/2026, construction works will be carried out for pedestrian crossings and sidewalks, as part of the Project “Priority Projects of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) of Larnaca – Implementation of Bus Lanes and Cycle Paths”. During the works, in a section of approximately 80 meters in length, the left lane of Artemis Avenue, heading from the Courts to the city center, as well as Okkoular Street, will remain closed to traffic. Traffic towards Okkoular Street will be diverted via Kotza Tepe Street, with the use of appropriate road markings.
On the old Nicosia-Limassol road, in a section between the villages of Menogia and Kofinou, from Friday 26/06/2026 to Friday 31/07/2026, daily except weekends, between the hours of 08:00 - 17:00, pipeline construction work will be carried out, by the Water Development Department. During the works, a section of the road will be closed for a length of approximately 100 meters and traffic will be diverted to an adjacent lane using traffic lights
