MAJOR ROAD WORKS
Famagusta-Larnaca-Larnaca Airport Motorway
On the Larnaca-Ayia Napa motorway, as well as on the Larnaca-Nicosia and Larnaca-Kofinos motorways, from 15 June 2026 to 26 June 2026, daily, between the hours of 08:30 – 15:00, excluding weekends, safety barrier maintenance work will be carried out. During the work, one lane of traffic will be closed in sections for a length of approximately 200m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
On the motorway, in the section between Ayia Napa/Paralimni and Xylotymvos in both directions, from Monday 15/06/2026 to Friday 31/07/2026, from 07:00 to 16:00, cleaning works will be carried out. Drivers are asked to be particularly careful and to comply with the temporary road markings that will be placed.
On the Larnaca-Famagusta motorway, in the direction towards Famagusta district, from the exit towards the Xylotymvos community to the roundabout at the end of the motorway, from Monday 22 June 2026 to Friday 31 July 2026, between the hours of 07:00 and 16:00, pruning and cleaning works will be carried out on the central island of the motorway. During the works, the right lane in the direction from Larnaca to Paralimni will be partially closed for a length of up to 3 kilometers.
On the Larnaca-Famagusta motorway in both directions, on Monday 22/06/2026 and Tuesday 23/06/2026, between the hours of 08:30 – 16:30, pruning work will be carried out on its central island. During the works, the right lane, adjacent to the central island, will be partially closed in both directions, for a length of approximately 3000 m. each time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
Due to works on Hellados Avenue, in Aradippou, the two exits to Hellados Avenue will be closed in both directions of the Larnaca Airport-Paralimni motorway, on Monday 22/06/2026, between the hours of 08:30-17:00. Traffic will be diverted to the next exit, with appropriate signage.
Larnaca-Kofinou Motorway
On the Larnaca-Kofinou motorway, as well as on the Larnaca-Nicosia and Larnaca-Ayia Napa motorways, from 15 June 2026 to 26 June 2026, daily, between the hours of 08:30 - 15:00, except weekends, safety barrier maintenance works will be carried out. During the works, one lane will be closed in sections for a length of approximately 200m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
On the motorway, on Friday 19/06/2026 between the hours of 08:30–16:30, pruning work will be carried out on the central island. During the works, the right lane, adjacent to the central island, will be closed in sections in both directions, for a length of approximately 3000m each time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
On Limassol Avenue of the Larnaca – Kofinou motorway, on Monday 22/06/2026 between the hours of 08:30 – 16:30, pruning work will be carried out on the central island. During the works, from the Kalo Chorio roundabout and for a length of approximately 550 m towards Larnaca, the right lane of traffic, tangential to the central island, will be closed in both directions and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
Larnaca-Nicosia Motorway
On the Larnaca-Nicosia motorway, as well as on the Larnaca-Agia Napa and Larnaca-Kofinou motorways, from June 15, 2026 to June 26, 2026, daily, between the hours of 08:30 - 15:00, excluding weekends, safety barrier maintenance works will be carried out. During the works, one lane of traffic will be closed in sections over a length of 200 m. approximately and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
On the Larnaca-Nicosia motorway in both directions between the Rizoelia roundabout and the Athienou exit, from Tuesday 23/06/2026 until Thursday 25/06/2026, daily between the hours of 08:30 – 16:30, pruning work will be carried out on the central island of the motorway. During the works on the motorway, the right lane of traffic, tangential to the central island, will be closed in both directions, in sections, for a length of approximately 3000 m. each time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
Limassol-Nicosia Motorway
On the section of the motorway from the Agios Athanasios interchange to the Germasogeia interchange in the direction towards Limassol and in the direction towards Nicosia, from Thursday 18/06/2026 to Friday 19/06/2026, between the hours of 09:00-17:00, work will be carried out to install electronic variable message signs. During the work, in the above section, the left lane will remain closed for a distance of 600m.
Limassol Bypass
On the Limassol Bypass and the Paphos-Limassol Motorway, tree and shrub maintenance works will be carried out on the central island, during which the right lane will be partially closed in both directions for a length of approximately 1500 m and traffic will be diverted to the left lane. The works will be carried out as follows:
(a) During the period 04/05/2026 – 30/06/2026 between the hours of 07:00 – 15:00 outside Kyraki, in the section from Erimis junction to Petra tou Romiou.
On the Limassol Bypass, on Saturday 20/06/2026 from 6:30 to 15:00, cleaning works will be carried out. During the works, one of the two traffic lanes will be closed, in sections of approximately 200 m. in one direction only, at all times and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent traffic lane, with the mobile construction site system.
On the section of the Bypass from the Moutagiakas junction to the New Limassol Hospital junction, in both directions, on Sunday 21/06/2026 from 6:30 to 15:00, cleaning works will be carried out. During the works, the right lane of the Bypass Road will be closed, in sections of approximately 200 m in one direction only, at all times and traffic will be diverted to the left lane, with the mobile construction site system.
Limassol-Paphos Motorway
On the motorway in both directions, from Wednesday 03/06/2026 to Wednesday 24/06/2026, excluding weekends, between the hours of 08:30-15:00, grass cutting works will be carried out on the shoulders, slopes and exits of the motorway. During the works, part of the shoulder of the motorway will be closed in sections.
In the tunnel of the Paphos - Limassol motorway, in the direction of Limassol, from 15 June 2026 to 19 June 2026, maintenance work will be carried out on electromechanical installations. During the works, the traffic lanes towards Limassol will be closed daily between the hours of 8am - 7pm and traffic will be diverted to the opposite traffic flow, which will operate in two-way traffic.
On the section of the motorway from the New Port roundabout to the Erimi junction, on Saturday 20/06/2026, between the hours of 06:00 - 13:00, maintenance work will be carried out on the trees and shrubs of the central island. During the works, the right lane in both directions will be closed for a length of approximately 1500 m and traffic will be diverted to the left lane.
In the Limassol-Paphos motorway tunnel, in the direction towards Paphos, from Monday 22/06/2026 until Friday 26/06/2026, between the hours of 08:00 – 19:00, maintenance work on electromechanical installations will be carried out by the Electromechanical Services Department. During the works, the tunnel will be closed in the direction towards Paphos and traffic before the motorway tunnel will be diverted to the opposite traffic flow, which will operate in two-way traffic.
Nicosia-Kokkinotrimithia-Akaki Motorway
On the Kokkinotrimithia interchange on the motorway, on Tuesday 23/06/2026 and Wednesday 24/06/2026, between the hours of 08:30 – 14:00, the Forestry Department will carry out pruning work on the trees and shrubs of the central island. During the work, the right-hand traffic lane will be closed locally and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
Nicosia District
In Nicosia and Aglantzia, as part of the project “Improvement of Famagusta Avenue in Nicosia”, works lasting 24 months are underway from 20 February 2025, and are expected to be completed by 22 February 2027. Specifically, they include Famagusta Avenue from its junction with Kalavryton Street to the Sopaz roundabout, approximately 1.7 km long and a secondary road network approximately 0.8 km long, consisting of a section of Kalavryton, Paphos, Madaris and Semelis streets.
On the Nicosia – Troodos road, at the height of the Platanias camping area, from Monday 22/06/2026 to Thursday 25/06/2026, between the hours of 08:00 – 12:00, tree pruning works will be carried out by the Forestry Department. During the works, the adjacent traffic lane will be closed in sections for a length of approximately 50 – 100m. each time and traffic will be diverted to the other traffic lane using Stop and Go.
Limassol District
On the Limassol – Saitta road, in the direction of Saitta, in a section at the height of the Polemidia National Forest Park, from Thursday 18/06/2026 to Wednesday 24/06/2026 between the hours of 08:30 a.m. to 15:30 pm daily except weekends, soundproofing work will be carried out. During the works, the emergency lane of the road will be closed for a length of approximately 300 meters and traffic will be carried out normally on the two lanes of the motorway.
In Limassol, on a section of Gladstonos and Georgiou Karaiskaki streets, from Saturday 20/06/2026 at 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. on Monday 22/06/2026, asphalt paving works will be carried out. During the works, the following arrangements will apply:
· A section of Gladstonos Street from the junction with Pentadromos to the junction with Evripidou Street will be closed.
· A section of Georgiou Karaiskaki Street from the junction with Gladstonos Street to the junction with Stasinou Street will be closed.
· Drivers of vehicles heading towards the Agios Nikolaos roundabout are requested to use Agias Zonis Street and Makarios G Avenue, while drivers of vehicles travelling in the opposite direction are urged to use the Coastal Road or Makarios G Avenue.
Larnaca District
In Oroklini, as part of the construction works of the Project “Improvement of the Larnaca - Dhekelia Coastal Road Phase C”, from Friday 27/03/2026, a section of approximately 400m of the southern lanes of the Coastal Road will be opened to traffic and will operate with two-way traffic using appropriate signage. In addition, from Friday 27/03/2026 and for three months, a section of Galaxia Street in Oroklini will remain closed, from the height of Fotis Pitta Street to Vachamon Street, and traffic will be diverted via Vachamon, Elpidos and Fotis Pitta Streets in Oroklini.
Also in Oroklini, within the framework of the construction works of the Project “Improvement of the Larnaca - Dhekelia Coastal Road Phase C”, from Monday 27/04/2026 and for two months, in Oroklini, a section of approximately 200m of Mesopotamias Street, from the height of the Radisson Beach Hotel to the Organized Oroklini Beach will remain closed, and access will be provided via Oceanias and Afroditis Streets in Oroklini.
In Larnaca, on Artemis Avenue, in the section opposite Nikos Dimitriou Street, as part of the Project “Priority Projects of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) of Larnaca – Implementation of Bus Lanes and Cycle Paths”, from Monday 15 June 2026 to Friday 26 June 2026, construction works will be carried out for the construction of photo-controlled pedestrian crossings and sidewalks. During the execution of the works and in a section of approximately 90 meters in length, the left lane of Artemis Avenue, heading from the city center to the Courts, will remain closed to traffic. Traffic will be diverted via the right lane, using appropriate temporary road markings.
On Faneromenis Avenue in Larnaca, in the section from the Kamares Roundabout to the Agios Charalambos Leprosy Asylum Roundabout, from Monday 22 June 2026 to Monday 17 August 2026, construction works will be carried out for photo-controlled pedestrian crossings, sidewalks, green spaces and asphalt pavements, also within the framework of the Project “Priority Projects of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) of Larnaca – Implementation of Bus Lanes and Cycle Paths”. During the works, temporary traffic regulations will be implemented on Faneromenis Avenue, in a section of approximately 1,000 meters. During the works, the direction from the Kamares Roundabout to the city center will remain closed to traffic. Traffic heading to the city center via Faneromeni Avenue will be diverted via Nikou and Despina Pattihi Avenue, Kalymnou Street, Agiou Georgiou Makri Street, Kaisareias Street, 1st April Street, ending at the Agiou Charalambos Leprosy Roundabout. In addition, the right lane in the direction from the city center to the Kamares Roundabout will remain closed, with traffic being conducted via the left lane. For the purposes of serving local access, the existing one-way street on Verias, Paros, Naxos and Pierias Streets will be temporarily removed, which will temporarily operate as dead ends. Entry will be allowed exclusively to residents and authorized vehicles of the area.
On the old Nicosia-Limassol road, in the section between Alambra and Mosfiloti, on Thursday 18/06/2026 and Friday 19/06/2026, from 07:00 in the morning until 15:00 in the afternoon, horizontal marking works will be carried out on sections of the road, with a total length of approximately 3Km. During the works, one lane of the road will be closed in sections (100 meters at a time) and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, using stop&go and appropriate markings.
On the Kato Drys – Vavla road, in the direction from Kato Drys to Vavla, on Thursday 18/06/2026 and Friday 19/06/2026, from 07:00 in the morning until 15:00 in the afternoon In the afternoon, periodic maintenance work will be carried out on sections of the road, with a total length of approximately 1km. During the works, one lane of the Kato Dry-Vavla road will be closed in sections (100 meters at a time) and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, using stop&go and appropriate signage.
Also on the Kato Drys - Vavla road, in the direction from Kato Dry to Vavla, from Friday 19/06/2026 to Thursday 25/06/2026, excluding weekends, from 07:00 in the morning until 15:00 in the afternoon, periodic maintenance work will be carried out on a section with a total length of approximately 3.5km. During the works, one lane of the Kato Dry-Vavla road will be closed in sections (100 meters at a time) and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, using stop&go and appropriate signage.
In the Dromolaxia-Meneou area, at the roundabout at the intersection of Eleftherias Street and Artemidos Avenue, from Monday 22/06/2026 to Thursday 25/06/2026, from 08:00 in the morning to 16:00 in the afternoon, horizontal marking and island construction works will be carried out, as part of the construction project of the new roundabout in Dromolaxia-Meneou. The section of the road where the roundabout is located on Eleftherias Street, which connects Artemidos Avenue up to the junction with Archbishop Makarios III Avenue, will remain closed to traffic. During the works, traffic from Larnaca to Dromolaxia-Meneou and Kiti will be diverted via the secondary airport road connecting to Archbishop Makarios III Avenue with the use of appropriate signage. The route from Kiti and Dromolaxia-Meneou to Larnaca and the airport will be diverted via Eleftherias, Dimokratias, Stadiou and 25th March Streets with the use of appropriate signage.
On the old Larnaca-Limassol road, in a section from Klavdia to Alethriko, with a total length of approximately 1.5km, on Wednesday 24/06/2026, from 20:00 in the evening until 5:30 in the morning of the next day, periodic maintenance works of the road surface will be carried out. During the works, one lane of the road will be closed in sections (100 meters at a time) and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, with the use of stop&go and appropriate signage.
On the Zygiou-Vasilikou-Mari road, on Wednesday 24/06/2026 and Thursday 25/06/2026, from 07:00 in the morning until 15:00 in the afternoon, horizontal marking works will be carried out on sections of the road surface, with a total length of approximately 2.5km. During the works, one lane of the road will be closed in sections (100 meters at a time) and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, using stop&go and appropriate signage.
On the old Nicosia-Limassol road, in the section from Alambra to Mosfiloti, on Monday 22/06/2026 and Tuesday 23/06/2026, from 07:00 in the morning until 15:00 in the afternoon, horizontal marking works will be carried out on sections of the road, with a total length of approximately 3 km. During the works, one lane of the above connecting road will be closed in sections (100 meters at a time) and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, using stop&go and appropriate signage.
On the road to Stavrovouni, on Friday 26/06/2026, from 07:00 in the morning until 15:00 in the afternoon, horizontal marking work will be carried out on sections of the road, with a total length of approximately 3Km. During the works, one lane of the road will be closed in sections (100 meters at a time) and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, using stop&go and appropriate signage.
