EAC SMART METER INSTALLATIONS IN JUNE - Filenews 4/6


The mass installation of smart meters in all regions continues throughout June, according to an announcement by the Electricity Authority of Cyprus.

The EAC informs that the works will cover areas in Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca and Famagusta, while a temporary interruption of the electricity supply will be required for the safe replacement of the meters.

In Nicosia, smart meters will be installed in the industrial area of Strovolos, in the residential area west of the GSP Stadium up to Alexandroupoleos Street, as well as on both sides of Iosif Hadjiiosif Avenue, from the height of the Strovolos industrial area to the height of Athamassas Avenue.

Installations will also be made on both sides of Stavrou and Athinon avenues, in the area between Stavrou, Iosif Hatziiosif and Athalassas avenues, as well as in the community of Lythrodontas.

In Limassol, smart meters will be installed in the area between the Limassol-Nicosia highway and Amathountos and Vasileos Georgiou A Avenues, up to the height of Christaki Kranou Street.

In Larnaca, the works will cover the area between Griva Digeni, Artemidos, Faneromeni and Thessaloniki avenues, as well as Livadia.

According to the announcement, in Livadia the facilities will be built in the core of the community, in the area between Alexandros Panagoulis and Kyriakos Matsis avenues, on either side of Grigoris Afxentiou Avenue, on either side of Archbishop Makarios III Avenue and northeast of the village up to the height of Stadiou Street.

In Famagusta, the installations will take place in Paralimni, on both sides of Sotiras, Agiou Nektarios and Asklipiou streets, as well as on both sides of 1st April Avenue, from the height of the roundabout next to Stadiou Street to the height of Agiou Spyridonos Street.

Works will also be carried out on both sides of Agiou Spyridonos, Maria Synklitikis, Agia Marina and Stadiou streets, as well as on both sides of Giorgi Papadopoulou, Korai and Eleftherias streets, in the area of the roundabout to Deryneia.

The EAC notes that, for the safe replacement of the meter, it is necessary to interrupt the supply for a period of time that is not expected to exceed 20 minutes. The Authority apologizes for any inconvenience.
