From Monday, June 29, to Thursday, July 9, 2026, between the hours of 09:30-17:00, operational unmanned aircraft (UAV-Drone) flights will be operated for the purpose of collecting traffic data along selected sections of the Nicosia-Limassol Motorways, from the Alhambra exit to the Kornou exit, Nicosia-Larnaca, from the Lympion exit to the Rizoelia interchange, and Larnaca-Ayia Napa Airport, from the Rizoelia junction to the Xylofagou exit.
In an announcement by the Department of Public Works, it is clarified that specifically, an MBT flight will be operated parallel to the highway in the province of Nicosia, Larnaca and Famagusta, over the slope and outside the main lane.
The Department notes that the data collected will be processed to ensure Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data.
