A new attempt to illegally import items into the Central Prison using a drone was detected and prevented this morning, through the anti-drone system in operation at the penitentiary.
Specifically, the system detected a drone that was transporting a package to the Central Prisons. Both the drone and the package were immediately confiscated by the competent Prison Services, while the Cyprus Police was informed of its receipt and further investigation of the case.
This new case confirms in practice the effectiveness of the anti-drone system, which is an important tool for strengthening the security of the Central Prison and preventing the illegal import of mobile phones, drugs and other prohibited items.
