A particularly important cooperation was officially announced yesterday between XM Group and the University of Cyprus. Collaboration, which opens new avenues in the acquaintance, study and research around Artificial Intelligence, and which is expected to bring particularly interesting results in this ever-evolving subject, as well as benefits to students.
This collaboration was sealed with the filling of the "XM Chair in Artificial Intelligence" by the distinguished Professor Konstantinos Dovrolis and is part of the Department of Informatics of the academic institution.
The establishment of the Chair at the University of Cyprus was made possible thanks to the funding of the XM Group, which will support its operation for a period of ten consecutive years, with the total funding exceeding one million euros.
The official announcement of the filling of the Chair was made yesterday at the University of Cyprus, which pointed out that the "XM Chair" aims to promote research, education and the utilization of research results in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
In the context of the operation of the Chair, a wide range of actions will be implemented, including, among others, the promotion of research activities in the field of Artificial Intelligence, student placements and internships and human resources training.
Visibly moved, Professor Dovrolis developed his own vision focusing on three main pillars: Research, education and innovation. As he said, in the field of Artificial Intelligence, tools that generate intelligent speech have been created for the first time. Now, however, academic research in this area is very important. According to the professor, the main goal of the research is to understand in depth the capabilities and limitations of these models that have been developed. Regarding education, K. Dovrolis stressed that Artificial Intelligence is now radically changing it. "The core of education and what we were learning is changing. The issue is now shifting. In the future, education will not only be about finding the right answers but asking the right questions," he noted.
On behalf of the XM Group, the co-CEO Stavri Morti, mentioned, among other things, the great importance of this cooperation, pointing out that Artificial Intelligence is very important as progress, however it needs responsibility and transparency.
