Significant delays are observed by the contractor who is carrying out the upgrading works of the existing Paphos-Polis Chrysochous road.
At two points of the road, near Mesogi and Giolou, additional uphill lanes are being constructed, a third lane with the aim of safe overtaking.
The first lane from Mesogi in the direction of Tsada is 1.8 kilometers long and the second from Giolou to Stroumbi is 1.5 kilometers.
The cost of the project exceeds €3.5 million.
The Department of Public Works exerts pressure on the contractor in order to complete the works as soon as possible. One of the measures it implements is the imposition of a fine for each day of additional delay.
