The Chief Returning Officer announces that according to the provisions of the current electoral legislation, on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 May 2026, i.e. the eve and day of the voting for the 2026 Parliamentary Elections, it is prohibited to issue leaflets, hang banners, post signs and write slogans related to the Elections.

Offenders are guilty of a criminal offence and, if convicted, are liable to imprisonment for up to one year or a fine of up to €5,000 or both.
