A large-scale preparedness exercise will be conducted on Thursday, May 21, 2026, between the hours of 10:00 and 11:00, on Foti Pitta and Mykinon streets in Nicosia, at the Labs Tower, by the Fire Service and the Cyprus Police.

According to a relevant announcement, this is a specialized exercise in a tall building in Cyprus and highlights the need for close and continuous cooperation between the private sector and security forces. The exercise includes a total evacuation of the building, with the simultaneous closure of the streets surrounding it.

In the announcement, it is stated that "the choice of Labs Tower for the implementation of the exercise is due to the excellent professional relationship that the Management maintains with the emergency services, as well as the state-of-the-art security and fire extinguishing systems that the building has. Specially equipped vehicles and personnel of the Fire Service and the Police will take part in the exercise, with actions such as evacuating tenants and rescuing the injured."

According to the building management company, "this action is part of the corporate social responsibility of the Labs Tower, actively contributing to the strengthening of public safety and the provision of know-how to the country's security forces and highlights the enormous importance that the Tower Management attaches to health and safety issues, for the absolute protection and well-being of our tenants".

The goal, as stated, is to "modernize emergency response systems. The exercise provides the necessary ground for planning, training, and the proper execution of operations in emergency scenarios in high-rise buildings."

"This initiative is a testament to our commitment to creating a safe environment, not only for the Labs Tower but also for the wider society," the building's management said. "We invest in prevention and excellent education, recognizing the needs created by the new architectural reality of Cyprus," the company concludes in its announcement.
