MAJOR ROAD WORKS
Famagusta-Larnaca-Larnaca Airport Motorway
On the Larnaca Airport-Paralimni Motorway, in the Larnaca district, in both directions, during the period 07/05/2026-30/06/2026, except Fridays, Weekends and Holidays, between the hours of 08:30-14:30, works will be carried out by the Forestry Department, for pruning and watering plants on the slopes. During the works, part of the shoulder of the motorway from Larnaca Airport to the Rizoelia roundabout will be closed, in sections of 300 meters each time from both directions successively.
On the motorway, from the Kalo Chorio roundabout to the Larnaca Airport roundabout, in the direction of Larnaca Airport, on Monday 11/05/2026, from 09:00 in the morning until 14:00, horizontal marking works will be carried out. During the works, one lane of traffic will be closed for a distance of approximately 300m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane with the use of appropriate markings.
On the motorway, from the Larnaca Airport roundabout to the Kalo Chorio roundabout, in the direction of Paralimni, on Tuesday 12/05/2026 and Wednesday 13/05/2026, from 09:00 in the morning until 14:00, horizontal marking works will be carried out. During the works, one lane will be closed for a distance of approximately 300m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane using appropriate signage.
On the motorway, from the Kalo Chorio roundabout to the Rizoelia roundabout, in the direction of Paralimni, on Thursday 14/05/2026 and Monday 18/05/2026, from 09:00 in the morning until 14:00, horizontal signage work will be carried out. During the works, one lane will be closed for a distance of approximately 300m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane using appropriate signage.
Larnaca-Kofinou Motorway
On a section of the Larnaca-Kofinou Motorway, in the Kofinou area, from 06 May 2026 to 12 May 2026, between the hours of 09:00 in the morning and 05:30 the following morning, weekdays except Friday and weekends, emergency door installation works will be carried out on the central island. During the works, a section of the right lane of the motorway (tangential to the central island) will be closed for a length of 100 meters, simultaneously in both directions, at the exit to Limassol from Larnaca, in the Kofinou area.
On a section of the Larnaca-Kofinou motorway, from 13 May 2026 to 19 May 2026, between the hours of 09:00 in the morning and 05:30 the following morning, weekdays except Friday and weekends, emergency door installation works will be carried out on the central island. During the works, a section of the right lane of the motorway (tangential to the central island) before the exit to Limassol in the Kofinou area in the direction from Larnaca will be closed for a length of 100 meters, simultaneously from both directions.
Larnaca-Nicosia Motorway
On sections of the motorway, from 06 April 2026 to 28 May 2026, between the hours of 09:00 – 15:00 and then 19:00 to 05:30 the next morning, daily except Fridays, Weekends and Public Holidays, emergency door installation works will be carried out on the central island. During the works, a section of the right lane of the motorway will be closed, from the “Rizoelias” roundabout up to approximately 3km before its connection with the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, successively for a length of 100 meters each time, simultaneously from both directions, at six different points.
On the motorway, from the Rizoelia roundabout to the exit to Athienou and from both directions (successively), including its junctions, during the period from Monday 11/05/2026 to Monday 18/05/2026, daily except Sunday, between the hours of 08:30 – 16:30, work will be carried out to cut, collect and remove grass. During the work, part of the shoulder will be closed in sections. Traffic will continue to flow unhindered in the traffic lanes.
Limassol-Nicosia Motorway
On sections of the motorway in both directions, from Monday 11/05/2026 to Thursday 14/05/2026 between the hours of 21:00 at night until 05:30 in the morning of the next day, road maintenance works will be carried out. During the works, both lanes of the motorway in one direction will be closed in sections for a length of approximately 3 km and traffic will be diverted to the opposite direction, which will operate with two-way traffic.
Limassol Bypass
On the section of the bypass road, between the New Hospital junction and the Germasogeia junction on both sides directions, during the period 17/03/2026-15/05/2026, between the hours of 07:00-16:00, noise barrier cleaning works will be carried out. During the works, the emergency lane of the Bypass will be closed in sections over a length of approximately 200m in one direction only, without affecting the traffic lanes of the road.
On the section of the bypass road, between the New Hospital junction and the Mouttagiaka junction in both directions, during the period 17/03/2026-15/05/2026, from Monday to Thursday, from 21:00 at night to 03:00 in the morning of the next day, rainwater slat cleaning works will be carried out. During the works, the emergency lane of the Bypass will be closed in sections for a length of approximately 200m in one direction only, without affecting the traffic lanes of the road.
On the Limassol Bypass and the Paphos-Limassol Motorway, tree and shrub maintenance works will be carried out on the central island, during which the right lane in both directions will be closed in sections for a length of approximately 1500m and traffic will be diverted to the left lane. The works will be carried out as follows:
(a) During the period 04/05/2026 – 30/06/2026 between the hours of 07:00 – 15:00 outside Kyraki, in the section from Erimis junction to Petra tou Romiou.
(b) On Saturdays 09/05/2026 and 16/05/2026 between the hours of 06:00 – 13:00 on the section from the Germasogeia roundabout to the Agios Athanasios roundabout.
(c) On Saturdays 23/05/2026, 30/05/2026 and 06/06/2026, between the hours of 06:00 – 13:00, on the section of the Paphos-Limassol motorway, from the Erimi junction to the New Port roundabout.
Limassol-Paphos Motorway
On sections of the motorway in both directions, between the dates 17/03/2026-15/05/2026, between the hours of 07:00 – 16:00, pothole cleaning works will be carried out. During the works, the emergency lane of the motorway will be closed in sections for a length of approximately 200m in one direction only, without affecting the traffic lanes of the road.
On the Paphos-Limassol motorway and the Limassol bypass, tree and shrub care works will be carried out on the central island, during which the right lane in both directions will be closed in sections for a length of approximately 1500m and traffic will be diverted to the left lane. The works will be carried out as follows:
(a) During the period 04/05/2026 – 30/06/2026 between the hours of 07:00 – 15:00 outside Kyraki, on the section from Erimis junction to Petra tou Romiou.
(b) On Saturdays 09/05/2026 and 16/05/2026 between the hours of 06:00 – 13:00 on the section from the Germasogeia roundabout to the Agios Athanasios roundabout.
(c) On Saturdays 23/05/2026, 30/05/2026 and 06/06/2026, between the hours of 06:00 – 13:00, on the section of the Paphos-Limassol motorway, from the Erimi interchange to the new Port roundabout.
Nicosia District
In Nicosia and Aglantzia, as part of the project “Improvement of Famagusta Avenue in Nicosia”, works lasting 24 months are underway from 20 February 2025, and are expected to be completed by 22 February 2027. Specifically, they include Famagusta Avenue from its junction with Kalavryton Street to the Sopaz roundabout, approximately 1.7 km long and a secondary road network approximately 0.8 km long, consisting of a section of Kalavryton, Paphos, Madaris and Semelis streets.
Also, within the framework of the “Improvement of Famagusta Avenue in Nicosia” Project, from Tuesday 17/03/2026 and for a duration of approximately 2 months, the intersection of Famagusta Avenue with Kalavryton Street will be closed. During the works, drivers coming from Kalavryton Street towards Kaimakli / Sopaz are urged to follow the route via Kalavryton-Falirou Street to the adjacent intersection of Piraeus Street with Famagusta Avenue. Drivers heading towards Nicosia / Aglatzia should follow the route via Kalavryton - Persephone - Soulio Street to the intersection of Parnithos Street with Larnaca Avenue.
Limassol District
In Limassol, on Nikos and Despinas Pattihi Avenue, during the period from Wednesday 29/04/2026 to Friday 29/05/2026, between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00, horizontal marking, manhole lifting and related works will be carried out. During the works, one lane of traffic in each direction will be closed in sections and traffic will be diverted through the other lane, using appropriate temporary road markings.
On the coastal road, within the limits of the Limassol Municipality, from Monday 11/05/2026 at 09:00 pm until Friday 15/05/2026 at 6:00 am, asphalt paving works will be carried out. During the course of the work, the following will apply:
Arrangements:
On Monday 11/05/2026 from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday 12/05/2026, from the intersection of Georgiou Katsounotou Street with the Coastal Road to the intersection of Commandaria Street with the Coastal Road, the South lanes of the Coastal Road will be closed. Traffic from East to West will be through the North lanes of the Coastal Road, which will operate in two-way traffic, until the end of the work.
On Tuesday 12/05/2026 from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 in the morning of Wednesday 13/05/2026, from the intersection of Commandarias Street with the Coastal Road to the intersection of Georgiou Katsounotou Street with the Coastal Road, the North lanes of the Coastal Road will be closed. Traffic from West to East will be through the South lanes of the Coastal Road, which will operate in two-way traffic, until the end of the works. The descent to the Coastal Road from Anexartisias Street will be closed and vehicles will enter the Coastal Road through Christodoulos Sozou Street.
On Wednesday 13/05/2026 from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 in the morning of Thursday 14/05/2026, from the intersection of Georgiou Katsounotou Street with the Coastal Road to the intersection of Eleftheriou Venizelou Street with the Coastal Road, the North lanes of the Coastal Road will be closed. Traffic from the West to the East will be through the South lanes of the Coastal Road, which will operate in two-way traffic, until the end of the works. The descents to the Coastal Road from Christodoulou Sozou, Zinas Kanther and Eleftheriou Venizelou streets are closed and vehicles will enter the Coastal Road through Anexartisias Street.
On Thursday 14/05/2026 from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 in the morning of Friday 15/05/2026, from the intersection of Eleftheriou Venizelou Street with the Coastal Road to the intersection of Archiepiskopou Makariou III Street with the Coastal Road, the North lanes of the Coastal Road will be closed. Traffic from the West to the East will be through the South lanes of the Coastal Road, which will operate in two-way traffic, until the end of the works. The descents to the Coastal Road from Eleftheriou Venizelou and Arch. Makariou III streets will be closed and vehicles will enter the Coastal Road through Zenas Kanther and Chrysi Dimitriadis streets respectively.
Larnaca District
In Oroklini, as part of the construction works of the Project “Improvement of the Larnaca - Dhekelia Coastal Road Phase C”, from Friday 27/03/2026, a section of approximately 400m of the southern lanes of the Coastal Road will be opened to traffic and will operate with two-way traffic using appropriate signage. In addition, from Friday 27/03/2026 and for three months, a section of Galaxia Street in Oroklini will remain closed, from the height of Fotis Pitta Street to Vachamon Street, and traffic will be diverted via Vachamon, Elpidos and Fotis Pitta Streets in Oroklini.
Also in Oroklini, as part of the construction works of the Project "Improvement of the Larnaca - Dhekelia Coastal Road Phase C", from Monday 27/04/2026 and for two months, in Oroklini, a section of approximately 200m of Mesopotamias Street, from the height of the Radisson Beach Hotel to the Organized Oroklini Beach will remain closed, and access will be provided via Oceanias and Afroditis Streets in Oroklini.
In Larnaca, on Dimitras Street, also within the framework of the Project “Priority Projects of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) of Larnaca – Implementation of Bus Lanes and Cycle Paths”, in the period 14/04/2026-22/05/2026, construction works will be carried out for new pedestrian crossings, construction of a sidewalk and green spaces. The works will be carried out on a section of approximately 330 meters in length, and due to the Works, Dimitras Street will be one-way from the roundabout by the tennis courts towards Archbishop Makariou Avenue and Apollonos Street will be one-way from its junction with Kikas Street and Froso Sountia Street towards Dimitras Street. Traffic from Archbishop Makariou Avenue to Dimitras Street will be diverted via Archbishop Kyprianou Avenue or Kostis Palamas Street to Kilkis Street using appropriate road markings.
In the Municipality of Aradippou, asphalt paving works will be carried out on the road network of the Eleftherias and Australia Avenues roundabout (KLIMA), from Thursday, May 07, until Saturday, May 09, 2026. The roads will be closed from 07:00 a.m. on Thursday until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. During the works, the following traffic regulations will be in effect temporarily:
Vehicle traffic from Aradippou to Larnaca will be diverted via Estias Street
Traffic from Larnaca to Aradippou will be diverted via Doureiou Ippou and Chiou Streets, heading towards Australia Avenue
The KLIMA roundabout towards Australia Avenue will remain closed Australia Road, as well as the entrance of Omirou Street to Australia Avenue
On the old Nicosia-Limassol road, in the areas of Kofinou and Agios Theodoros, on Monday 11/05/2026 and Tuesday 12/05/2026, between the hours of 08:00 - 17:00, asphalt paving work will be carried out in a pit by the Water Development Department. During the works, a section of the road will be closed, for a length of approximately 10 meters, and traffic will be diverted to an adjacent lane with STOP and GO signs, at two points, successively as follows:
In the Kofinou area, immediately after the exit from the Nicosia - Limassol motorway towards Kofinou, at a distance of approximately 1 kilometer from the motorway after the Kofinou Community and approximately one kilometer before the exit to the Agios Theodoros Community
On the old Nicosia - Limassol road, from the roundabout at Mosfiloti to Kornos, on Tuesday 12/05/2026 and Wednesday 13/05/2026, from 07:00 in the morning until 15:00, periodic maintenance works of the road surface will be carried out, for a length of approximately 1Km. During the works, one lane will be closed in sections (100 meters at a time) and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, using stop&go and appropriate signage.
On the old Nicosia-Limassol road, from the Zygi roundabout and for a length of approximately 4km, in the direction of Limassol, from Tuesday 12/05/2026 to Friday 15/05/2026 between the hours of 08:00 – 17:00, network development works will be carried out by Cyta. During the works, one lane will be closed in sections, locally over manholes, and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, using STOP & GO signage.
On the old Nicosia-Limassol road, in the area from Stavrovouni to Kofinou, from Thursday 14/05/2026 to Friday 22/05/2026, excluding weekends, from 07:00 in the morning until 15:00, periodic maintenance work will be carried out on the road surface, for a length of approximately 3km. During the work, one lane of traffic will be closed in sections (100 meters at a time) and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, using stop&go and appropriate signage.
Paphos District
On Mesogi Avenue, (section of the Paphos-Polis Chrysochous road), before the Mesogi roundabout, in the direction of Polis Chrysochous, on Tuesday 12/05/2026 between the hours of 9:00-17:00, excavation works will be carried out for the installation of electronic variable message signs. During the works, in the above section, the embankment will remain closed for a distance of 600m.
