The Limassol Municipality secured a decree prohibiting the conduct, use and operation of the acrobatic spectacle "Round of Death" in the area of Epichosi, in the Limassol Molose, after it was found that the necessary safety and licensing conditions had not been met.
According to an announcement by the Municipality, the Municipal Council had decided, upon request, to grant space in the area of the Backfill for the installation and operation of the show, provided that the applicant would comply with all the required conditions. These included securing the operating license required by law.
However, as reported by the Municipality of Limassol, during today's on-site inspection by the competent services, it was found that the relevant conditions had not been met. Therefore, it was not possible to issue the permit, as the safe use and operation of the facility was not ensured.

The Municipality of Limassol informs the public that, following a request submitted to the Municipal Council, it had been decided to grant space in the area of Epiplosis (Molos) for the installation and operation of the acrobatic spectacle "Lap of Death", provided that the applicant would meet all the necessary terms and conditions, including securing the operating license provided by law.
Despite the fact that the applicant had been informed in time about the relevant conditions, during today's on-site inspection by the competent Services it was found that they have not been met. Therefore, it is not possible to issue the relevant license, since the safe use and operation of the facility is not ensured.
Based on the above, and with a view to ensuring the protection of public safety, the Municipality of Limassol was obliged to apply to the District Court, which issued a decree prohibiting and preventing the conduct, use and operation of the public spectacle "Round of Death" within the area of Epiplosis in Limassol.
For the purposes of implementing the Decree, the Limassol Police Department has been informed, which will take the appropriate actions.
The Municipality of Limassol recommends and urges the public, during the three days of the Flood, to exercise due care in relation to the installation in question and to take into account that the necessary operating license has not been secured by the Municipality, as among other things the Cyprus Fire Service, during the inspection of the construction in question, considered it unsuitable.
