The Government has decided to extend the Housing Scheme for the granting of financial assistance for young people and young couples up to 41 years old, in order to cover all applications submitted and evaluated positively, said the Minister of the Interior.
Speaking to the Morning Route, Konstantinos Ioannou stated that a total of 1018 applications were submitted. 677 applications were approved, while the remaining 418 have been rejected because they were not correct.
Mr. Ioannou clarified that those who were rejected do not have the opportunity to provide supporting documents, because the Scheme was closed.
Initially, 400 applications were approved, with the total subsidy amount amounting to €14.5 million.
The Minister of the Interior pointed out that the beneficiaries have already been informed and several of them have received the subsidy money. The amount of the subsidy is up to €50,000.
According to Mr. Ioannou, the information of the remaining 277 beneficiaries will be completed by June.
The total amount of the additional subsidy amounts to €11 million.
