Two new cases of foot-and-mouth disease were detected in Western Nicosia, specifically in units in Kokkinotrimithia and Paliometocho.
According to the Veterinary Services, the positive cases were detected in a unit with 35 sheep in Kokkinotrimithia and in a unit with 160 cattle in Paliometocho.
Both units are within the affected area of western Nicosia.
According to the latest results, the number of infected units rose to 112.
In the meantime, a meeting of the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Maria Panagiotou, with agricultural organizations and the "Voice of Livestock Breeders" is scheduled for Tuesday in the context of a dialogue on issues related to foot-and-mouth disease.
