DISCOVERING POLIS CHRYSCHOUS-AKAMAS - PARTICIPANS DELIGHTED BY THE THEMATIC EXPERIENCE TOURS

The Pafos Regional Board of Tourism (PRBT), within the framework of its actions to promote the cultural and natural heritage of the wider Polis Chrysochous – Akamas area, is further strengthening its efforts for the months of May and June through the organisation of free thematic excursions in the region.

The initiative focuses on introducing visitors to five important points of interest in the area: the Sea and Culture Museum, the Reptile and Amphibian Park, the Marion-Arsinoe Archaeological Museum, the Akamas Rural Life and Tradition Museum in Droushia, and the Avifauna and Terrestrial Flora Information Centre in Kathikas. These museums and centres together create a multi-thematic narrative linking nature, the marine environment, and the historical evolution of the wider area.

The first thematic excursion took place on Saturday, 2 May, with great success, as the 25 participants expressed their enthusiasm and satisfaction both with the excellent organisation and the quality of the overall experience. Participants stated that they were particularly impressed by the sites they visited, the thematic focus of the museums, the authenticity of the experiences, and the richness of the area’s natural and cultural heritage, confirming the strong potential of the initiative and the value of showcasing lesser-known areas of Pafos district.

Participants have the opportunity to explore the world of biodiversity, discover the richness and importance of the region’s marine ecosystem, and uncover significant archaeological finds that testify to the long-standing history of Polis Chrysochous.

The excursion is supported by the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, the Municipalities of Polis Chrysochous and Akamas, and will initially take place every Saturday during May and June, completely free of charge, with departure from the Kato Pafos Archaeological Park at 09:15 and return at 16:30 to the same location.

The initiative is addressed to both locals and visitors, contributing to the strengthening of tourism and the balanced development of the Pafos district.

PRBT continues to implement targeted actions that promote lesser-known areas, further strengthening the position of Pafos district as a modern, sustainable, and multidimensional tourism destination.
