A disturbance was caused at noon on Sunday in Limassol, when coatings and sections of cement were detached from an apartment building located on Makarios Avenue and has already been classified as dangerous by the competent services.
The incident took place around 2:00 p.m., with officials of the Limassol District Self-Government Organization immediately going to the scene and proceeding to fence off the area, with the aim of protecting pedestrians and passing citizens.
As we are informed, the owners of the property had been given relevant instructions and a letter from the EOA at an earlier stage to take measures and remove the danger of the building. Although the tenants of the apartments have abandoned it, a shop still operates on the ground floor of the building, with the tenant remaining in the area.
This case is already before the Court, in the context of the dispute that has arisen between the owner and the tenant.

After the new incident, information indicates that the EOA is oriented towards taking additional legal measures, proceeding with an application for a court order to evacuate the building.
It is a building erected in 1956, consists of two floors and according to information, belongs to a well-known family in Limassol.
