CHILD AND SINGLE PARENT FAMILY ALLOWANCE - WHEN DO PAYMENTS START AND WHO DOES NOT NEED TO APPLY - Filenews 8/5

From May 29, 2026, the payment of the child allowance and the single-parent family allowance for 2026 will begin, according to an announcement by the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare.

As reported, the Decree of the Minister of Labour and Social Insurance for the provision of the two benefits in 2026 has been published in the Official Gazette of the Republic.

Based on the provisions of the Decree, those who had become beneficiaries of the benefits for 2025 do not need to submit a new application for 2026. The examination of the benefit will be done automatically by the Welfare Benefits Management Service.

In case there has been any change in the elements that affect the right to receive an allowance, such as a change in income from dividends, applicants should inform the YDEP through the electronic data change form, which is located on the website of the Service.

A prerequisite for submitting the form is registration with CYLogin and identification of the applicant's profile. The Deputy Ministry emphasizes that changes or additional information will be accepted only through the electronic data change form.

Those who have become beneficiaries of child benefit for 2025 and wish to apply for a single-parent family allowance for 2026 can submit their request through the same electronic form.

For persons who had not become beneficiaries of child benefit and/or single-parent family allowance for 2025, as well as for those who will apply for the first time, the application for 2026 can be submitted electronically through CYLogin until December 31, 2026.

For new applicants, it is mandatory, for the purpose of examining the application, to fill in and send the authorization form in original printed form to one of the Welfare Benefits Service Points, by appointment through the website of the Ministry of Welfare or by phone at 8000 2000.

Applicants and beneficiaries who have an electronic signature can complete, sign and submit the authorization form electronically using their electronic identity.
