
TROODOS NATURE TRAILS REOPEN FOLLOWING SAFETY UPGRADES - KNews 25/4
Department of Forests announces 15 routes now safe and accessible to the public.
The Department of Forests has announced the reopening of a wide network of nature study trails across the Troodos mountain region.
The trails had been temporarily closed in recent months due to safety concerns, including weather-related damage and maintenance issues. Authorities confirmed that all listed routes have now been restored and deemed safe for public use following essential improvement works.
Among the reopened routes are some of the island’s most popular walking paths, including the circular Artemis and Atalanti trails, both known for their scenic forest landscapes, as well as the Kalidonia linear trail, a favourite for its shaded river route and waterfalls. The Livadi circular trail, notably accessible for wheelchair users, has also been reopened, reinforcing efforts to make Cyprus’s natural environment more inclusive.

Prodromos Dam – Stavroulia Trail (linear)

E4 Trail (Troodos area)
Madari – Doxa soi o Theos (linear)
Teisia tis Madaris (circular)
The reopening also includes sections of the long-distance European E4 trail within the Troodos region, as well as routes in the Madari area, offering panoramic views and unique biodiversity.
