TALA - THE CENTRE OF THE COMMUNITY WAS FILLED WITH EASTER SMELLS - Filenews 3/4 by Dora Christodoulou
The center of Tala, in the province of Paphos, was filled with Easter delicacies and smells this morning. Dozens of housewives of the community, members of the Women's Association "Zina Kanther" of Tala, kneaded and baked flaounes, paskies and other sweets of the days, while they also dyed Easter eggs, in an event they organized with the help of the community authority and the primary school of Tala, in order for the children of the school and kindergarten of Tala to get an authentic taste of Easter preparations on this day when their school closed for the Easter holidays.
The young students of Tala attended church in the morning at the community church and then went to the event area, where the female members of the "Zina Kanther" association began the work of preparing and baking the Easter goods, creating an image that "smelled" for a good Easter in the center of the village.
The traditional dishes of the great celebration and the dyeing of Easter eggs continued until noon, with the children of the Primary School of Tala watching with obvious interest and intense participation in the preparations, under the guidance of the women of the association.
The community president of Tala, Giannakis Konikkos, stressed in his statements that the Women's Association "Zina Kanther" is a very active organized group that today wanted to give the joy to young children to enjoy fresh dishes of the days and learn first-hand the customs of the period.
He thanked the members of the women's association for their willingness to assist every event organized in the community and wished happy holidays to everyone.
