QATAR'S INTERVENTION ON THE PERSIAN GULF - IT WILL FULLY 'RESTORE' NAVIGATION FROM TODAY - Filenews 12/4

Qatar's Ministry of Transport has announced that navigation will be fully restored for all types of boats and ships in the Persian Gulf from Sunday.

In a statement yesterday, the Ministry said that navigation will be allowed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for all types of boats. He added that, according to a previous announcement, vessels with a fishing license are allowed to sail throughout the day.

The Ministry urged operators to comply with the directive and ensure that all required safety and security equipment is available and operational before and during voyages in order to maintain the highest levels of safety for all voyages.

There has been no official statement from Iran, which controls the Strait of Hormuz, on whether there is coordination with Qatar.
