PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON TWO BILLS CONCERNING PETROLEUM STATIONS - Filenews 16/4
The Ministry of Interior has announced the launch of a public consultation on the "e-Consultation" platform for two bills, inviting interested parties to submit their views and comments electronically by Friday, May 15, 2026.
According to an announcement by the Ministry of the Interior, the first bill is entitled "The Regulation of Petroleum Stations (Amendment) Law of 2026". The aim of the proposed regulation is to form a clear and distinct framework of responsibilities between the Provincial Local Government Organizations and the Local Authorities in terms of licensing for the operation, construction, reconstruction and demolition of petroleum stations, as well as for the addition, conversion or repair of existing service stations.
In a separate announcement, the Ministry of the Interior also announced that the bill entitled "The Communities (Amendment) Law of 2026" was also put to public consultation.
As mentioned, in the second case, the creation of a clear and distinct framework of responsibilities between the District Local Government Organizations and the Local Authorities in relation to the licensing of the operation, construction, reconstruction and demolition of petrol stations, as well as the addition, conversion or repair of existing facilities, is sought.
The Ministry of the Interior invites the public and any interested body to submit their comments through the electronic platform, in the context of the consultation that will remain open until mid-May.
