POLICE WARN OF NEW TELEPHONE SCAM - Filenews 4/5
On the occasion of new complaints about telephone fraud attempts, the Police remind that neither it nor any other organization asks citizens for personal data or bank details by phone.
According to the complaints, fraudsters pretend to represent the "European Financial Police" and communicate with unsuspecting citizens, asking for bank account details or electronic wallets, with the aim of deceiving and illegally extorting money.
It is emphasized that the Police never contact citizens by phone to ask for bank details, personal data or any other financial information.
This is a scam. The public is called, in case they receive such a phone call, not to give any information and to inform the Police immediately.
