NICOSIA - SUMMIT OF EUROPEAN LEADERS - WHICH ROADS ARE AFFECTED TODAY? - Filenews 24/4
The Police are taking increased security measures, due to the Informal Meeting of the Heads of State of the European Union, which will take place on April 23-24, 2026, in the framework of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The security measures also include traffic arrangements and prohibitions in areas of the districts of Nicosia, Larnaca and Famagusta.
Specifically, during the two days of April 23 and 24, 2026, there will be intermittent short-term road cuts, both on the urban road network of the three districts, as well as on the Nicosia - Larnaca and Larnaca - Ayia Napa highways. In particular, there will be road cuts in the areas of the Conference Center, in Nicosia, from the morning (07:30), until the afternoon (18:00) of April 24.
Specifically, today, Friday, Aglantzias Avenue and specifically from the lights of the Aluminum Tower to the Akadimias roundabout, will be closed from 07:30 to 18:00.
By Decree of the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, on the two days of April 23-24, the use of drones is strictly prohibited throughout Cyprus.
The public is asked to be patient and comply with the cuts and traffic regulations that will be implemented, as well as with the instructions of the police officers on duty.
