IN A TUI SURVEY, PAPHOS AMONG THE BEST DESTINATIONS - Pafos Live 20/4
Planning family vacations is often a tricky equation: parents want to relax, while children need entertainment. Parents finding an ideal destination that combines the above makes it difficult for families and so, many times, they end up visiting the same places due to lack of inspiration or fear that something might go wrong.
In this context, a study by TUI analyzed more than 150 seaside destinations in Europe in order to identify the most family-friendly ones. The evaluation was based on criteria such as the number of theme parks, aquariums, ice cream shops, entertainment venues, water parks and zoos, but also on the weather conditions of each area.
Topping the list for 2026 is Lisbon, which has a score of 9.16/10. The Portuguese capital stands out as it offers an overall proposal in each of the categories examined. It combines 17 parks per 10 km² with 37 family-friendly hotels per 10 km², one of the highest hotel densities in the ranking. At the same time, the weather is pleasant and not suffocatingly hot with average temperatures at 23°C.
In entertainment, Lisbon has a 7.36/10 as it offers a variety of activities, such as visits to the aquarium, playing in seaside playgrounds and leisurely walks in the city.
In sixth place is Rhodes, which has one of the highest average summer temperatures on the list (27.64°C) and a variety of activities. Its beautiful beaches, with Tsambika as a typical example, are an ideal destination for relaxation and family moments by the sea.
In seventh and eighth place are Paphos and Limassol. The first stands out for its large number of family hotels and pleasant weather conditions, ideal for summer holidays. The second has been gaining ground in recent years thanks to the warm climate and activities for children.
