IN PAPHOS, ALL 4 FIREFIGHTING HELICOPTERS FOR THE SUMMER

IN PAPHOS, ALL 4 FIREFIGHTING HELICOPTERS FOR THE SUMMER - Filenews 7/4 by Dora Christodoulou

The four firefighting helicopters that will shield Cyprus from the fires during the upcoming summer season have now arrived in Paphos in two instalments.

The two Black Hawks landed first at Paphos airport, while a few days later the other two Sikorsky helicopters arrived. The first two aircraft have large-capacity water tanks, instead of transportable bins, which is the case with Sikorskys.

For days now, the intensive training and briefing of the crews of the large helicopters on the data and procedures prevailing in the Republic of Cyprus has begun and soon these aircraft will be put in full readiness to deal with fires.

It is worth noting that the arrival of firefighting helicopters this year takes place long before the corresponding one last year, which was recorded in June, which will contribute to better planning and the better operation of operational plans to deal with fires.
