With the resounding message "I'd rather walk, than drink and drive", Dr. Yiota Demetriou – The Dancing Queen Foundation is organizing today at 9.00am a 5 km charity march. on the coastal pedestrian street of Agios Nikolaos in Geroskipou, finishing at the Medieval Castle of Kato Paphos.
The event aims to raise public awareness of the devastating consequences of drunk driving by promoting responsible driving behaviour.
"Dr. Yiota Dimitriou – The Dancing Queen Foundation" was founded in memory of child psychologist Dr. Yiota Dimitriou – victim of a fatal accident, in November 2008, which was caused by a drunk driver.
Dr. Yiota Demetriou's vision and ambition was to help children, adolescents and their families through child psychology. The main goal of the Foundation remains the continuation of her work, offering hope and financial support to families who are in real need of psychological support therapies.
The march has been held with great success for the last 17 years, and is the main source of income for the Foundation.
