The Cyprus Police, as every year, during the festive period of Easter and Resurrection, will take increased road safety measures, in order to increase road safety and prevent serious and fatal road traffic collisions.
Due to the expected increase in traffic during the holiday season, between Holy Thursday and Easter Monday, April 09-13, the presence of the Police on the main roads of the cities and on the intercity roads and highways will be intense, with increased patrols, traffic regulation, but also traffic controls.
During traffic checks, as always, zero tolerance will be shown for violations that are the main causes of serious and fatal road traffic collisions, such as exceeding the speed limit, driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, not wearing a seat belt by drivers and passengers of cars and a protective helmet by motorcyclists, distraction by using a mobile phone or other object while driving and the dangerous overtaking.
The Police recommends that vehicle drivers be very careful while driving, observe the traffic code and comply with traffic signs and the instructions of the police officers on duty.
