The Cyprus Association for Children's and Young People's Books (CAPIB) – Cyprus IBBY, in collaboration with the Municipality of Paphos, invite you to the celebration of World Children's Book Day, on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., at the "Attikon" Multi-purpose Hall.

The fact that in 2026 the responsibility for the celebration of World Children's Book Day has been assumed by the CAPIB, as the Cypriot section of IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People), gives the event a special historical significance.

The program includes a narrative journey through the history of World Children's Book Day, culminating in Cyprus 2026. Workshops for children, tailored to their age, will follow. At the end of the event, children will have the opportunity to present their works.

The event will conclude with the song “The Little Gardener”, composed by Cypriot composer George Hadjipieris, inspired by this year’s message of World Children’s Book Day. The song will be performed by the children’s choir of the Konia – Agios Iakovos Regional Primary School, with the participation of the audience.

The event is under the auspices of the Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of the Child, Ms. Elena Pericleous.

We look forward to celebrating together and “planting” our own stories!
