UK MAKES CONTRIBUTION OF €17,282 TO CMP - Filenews 18/3

The Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus (CMP) expresses deep appreciation to the UK Government for its financial contribution of €17,282 (£15,000).

With this donation, the total contribution of the United Kingdom to the CMP amounts to €322,282 since 2004, the CMP said in a statement.

This funding allowed the CMP to carry out basic DNA analyses and procure the necessary equipment for its activities in 2026.

"The UK's continued support is a valuable contribution to the CMP's efforts to identify and return the remains of missing persons, thereby helping families experiencing long-term uncertainty find peace," it said.

To date, 1,065 missing people from both communities have been identified and their remains returned to their families for burial.
