A total of 38 incidents were called upon to be managed by the Fire Service nationwide in the last 24 hours, due to severe weather phenomena and especially strong winds.
Most of the incidents were recorded in the province of Larnaca, where the fire stations of Larnaca, Livadia, Kition, Akti Governoritis and Ora responded to 16 calls. Of these, seven concerned falling or moving trees, one moving of a tank, one moving of solar system panels, two moving of signs and one alert for EAC cables. Damage to vehicles from tree falls was also reported.
In Limassol, nine incidents were recorded, which the fire stations of Limassol, Agios Tychonas and Dora were called to deal with. Seven incidents involved falling or moving trees, while two were related to the movement of tin. In this province too, there was damage to vehicles from falling trees.
In the province of Famagusta, there were five incidents, to which the stations of Protaras, Paralimni, Deryneia and Xylofagou responded. One incident involved falling or moving a tree, one dangerous scaffolding, and two moving restaurant or café signs.
In Paphos, four incidents were recorded by the fire stations of Paphos, Agia Marina, Pomos and Polis Chrysochous. Three involved falling or moving trees, while one incident involved falling or moving a canopy. Damage to vehicles from falling trees was also reported there.
Four other incidents were recorded in Nicosia, where the city's fire stations were called upon to deal exclusively with falls or moving trees.
