With the immediate intervention of the Municipality of Paphos, a temporary restoration was carried out these days at the point of the coastal pedestrian street where there had been a retreat of the ground, in front of the Almyra Hotel.
As stated by the Mayor of Paphos, Angelos Onisiforou, the intervention was made with the aim of the immediate safety of pedestrians, the smooth use of the coastal front and the protection of the infrastructure until the final solution.
The Municipality of Paphos does not stop at temporary solutions, he stressed. At the same time, it is proceeding with the planning of a comprehensive and permanent restoration, taking into account the particularities of the specific coastal area and the erosion phenomena.
The monitoring of the situation will be continuous and the interventions will continue where necessary, so that the coastal pedestrian street remains safe and functional for residents and visitors, concluded Angelos Onisiforou, with the Municipality of Paphos now intervening where necessary immediately and responsibly.
