The amount of rainfall that fell within the month, reaching 176% of normal, from March 1 to 8 in the morning of March 26, is heading to double the normal amount for the month of March, according to preliminary data released on Thursday by the Department of Meteorology.
According to the data, Stavros tis Psokas, Pano Panagia and Platania received the highest amount of rainfall within the month.
Specifically, the average total amount of rainfall from the 1st to the 8 am of March 26 amounted to 108.8 mm, compared to 61.9 mm which is the normal rainfall for the whole month.
More specifically, a large amount of rainfall during this period was recorded in Stavros tis Psokas with 236 mm, which corresponds to 202% of the normal for the whole of March, in Platania with 193 mm (172% of the normal), in Pano Panagia with 192.6 mm (189% of the normal), in Saittas with 175.1 mm (210% of the normal) and in Prodromos with 166.7 mm (138% of the normal).
In the last 24 hours, there was a large amount of rainfall in Kellaki with 36 mm, in Saittas with 28.9 mm and in Pano Panagia with 27.5 mm.
