A fault in the electricity production system, which caused power outages in various areas of Cyprus on Friday afternoon, was fully restored at 19:13, according to an announcement by the Cyprus Transmission System Operator (TSOC).
As reported, the technical failure occurred at 18:57 in the production system and resulted in the loss of the AT/S 2 Production Unit at the Vasilikos Power Station, which was operating with a load of 116 MW.
The loss of the unit caused the rejection of a consumer load and affected the supply of electricity in various areas of Cyprus.
According to the TSOC, the electricity supply to the consumers affected by the fault has now been fully restored.
