GESY - THE TIME FOR APPEARANCE OF RESULTS IN THE 'BENEFICIARY FILE' IS 15 DAYS - WHICH SENSITIVE EXAMINATIONS DOES IT CONCERN? - Filenews 6/3

As of February 25, 2026, the time required for the display of the results of certain sensitive laboratory and histopathological tests in the "Beneficiary File" of GHS beneficiaries is reduced from 30 to 15 days, the Health Insurance Organization (HIO) said in a statement.

According to the announcement of the HIO, the regulation mainly concerns tests that include cancer markers, biopsies, viruses that affect the liver, sexually transmitted diseases, as well as other tests for which it is considered important to be informed by the attending physician.

As mentioned, during this time the attending physician has the necessary time to evaluate the results and inform the beneficiary of any further actions that may be required.

Finally, it is noted that this regulation is applied so that the information of beneficiaries about the results of sensitive tests is done with the appropriate medical guidance.
