The new possibility of executing prescriptions via barcode from the GHS Beneficiary Portal will be implemented from tomorrow.
The HIO recently issued an announcement informing citizens about the procedures they must follow in order to achieve the securing of the code.
It is recalled that with the new regulation, citizens will be able to be served at GHS pharmacies without having to verbally mention personal information, as long as they present the relevant code of their prescription.
Step by step process
The execution of the prescription via barcode is done in simple steps:
1. Login to the Beneficiary
Portal The beneficiary visits the GHS website and logs in to the Beneficiary Portal with his/her personal access details.
2. Locating the prescription
Then select the "Available References" section and then the "Prescription" category.
3. Display of the barcode
The display shows the barcode corresponding to its recipe.
4. Visit to the pharmacy
The beneficiary presents the barcode to the pharmacist, who scans it to execute the prescription.
5. Receipt of the preparations
By scanning the code, the prescription for medicines, medical devices or health items that have been prescribed is executed.
The use of the service requires that the beneficiary has an active account in the Beneficiary Portal and has linked the Beneficiary Record to his/her profile. Otherwise, the process cannot be completed.
At the same time, the possibility of printing the prescription by the attending physician is still valid, for those beneficiaries who do not wish or cannot use the new electronic function. Beneficiaries can also present their political identity.
