It is and will remain the force that moves Cyprus forward
The EAC is a Public Benefit Organization, with a deep-rooted sense of social responsibility. At the heart of our operation is the belief that the EAC belongs to Cypriot society, to every citizen individually and to every consumer who trusts our services. Recognizing the importance of our social mission, we offer a basic and valuable commodity, electricity.
Our goal, in addition to production and distribution, is for this good to remain continuously accessible, technically reliable and affordable for all strata of society. In an era of global energy challenges, the EAC stands as a guarantor of stability and growth.
We are constantly evolving
Today, in the EAC, we are at a pivotal point of transformation. We are evolving and transforming in response to three simultaneous and equally important goals that are the roadmap for the future:
- The energy transition to a green, sustainable model.
- The complete digital and operational modernization, which includes aspects of the Organization, from internal administration to the distribution network, for maximum efficiency.
- Maintaining the affordability of electricity in order to support the purchasing power of households and the competitiveness of Cypriot businesses in the international market.

Creating smart cities
The EAC is leading the way and actively contributing to the digital transformation of our cities. Through the integration of modern cutting-edge technologies, we create infrastructure and enhance the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of the urban fabric.
◗ Smart Street Lighting (Smart Lighting): The transition to LED technology is not limited to replacing lamps. We install systems with built-in sensors for monitoring and controlling the luminaires. "Smart luminaires" have the ability to fluctuate the intensity of the light, monitor them through software and program their operation through a specialized management platform. This technology can reduce energy consumption by up to 60% compared to traditional energy-intensive lighting fixtures, improving and upgrading the quality of the night image of cities, offering higher quality of lighting, providing improved levels of road safety to citizens.
◗ IoT (Internet of Things) Ecosystem: We leverage IoT platform to remotely control and maintain our network. This allows us to monitor the condition of our infrastructure remotely, prevent failures before they occur, and intervene promptly in the event of a problem, drastically reducing recovery times.
◗ Smart Poles: We upgrade traditional lighting infrastructure by installing smart multifunctional piles. The "smart piles" have built-in infrastructure with a large projection screen that can display announcements, commercial advertisements, emergency notifications, etc., a high-definition camera to control movement in public spaces, an environmental sensor that measures temperature, relative humidity, noise, wind speed, etc. for informing citizens through screens and an internet access point for citizens via WiFi as well as a "smart light" with LED technology.
Through these projects we support in practice the goals for the creation of Smart Cities, enhance accessibility, encourage the use of green energy and contribute to improving the quality of life of our citizens.
Smart Grids
The transition to an energy-sustainable future passes through the smart management system. Smart grids are the backbone of this effort. EAC implements projects for the digitization and automation of the Distribution Network, through the installation of advanced systems such as SCADA/ADMS.
Why are smart grids important? Because they allow real-time monitoring and control of the Grid, they enhance the reliability of the system and facilitate the integration of Renewable Energy Sources. In this way, we enable consumers to participate more actively in energy management, save costs and contribute to sustainable development.
Smart Meters
The EAC is dynamically entering the era of smart meters, which come to simplify, accelerate and enhance reliability in the management of electricity consumption.
The implementation of the smart meter installation project is particularly important as it modernizes the EAC network and upgrades the quality of the services offered to consumers.
◗ The consumer gets a modern tool to monitor their consumption in real time, avoiding surprises on bills.
◗ By utilizing information, the consumer can adopt saving practices, immediately reducing his costs.
◗ Metering of consumption is done remotely and absolute accuracy in billing is ensured.
We invest in green energy
The goal of the Organization is to operate as soon as possible new photovoltaic parks for the production of clean and cheap energy from the sun. In this context, the operation of the photovoltaic parks in Akrotiri Limassol and Achera, which have been included in the EAC's production mix, is included. The cost of the energy produced by these photovoltaics is about 5 cents per kilowatt hour, which allows the EAC to offer the first, small reduction in energy costs to all consumers. On the basis of this strategic approach, new photovoltaic parks are being planned in various areas of Cyprus and at the same time the licensing for additional projects is proceeding, with the ultimate goal of RES making a significant contribution to the EAC's energy mix.
Our commitment to RES and Society
The EAC is implementing an extensive program for the installation of photovoltaic systems in public buildings.
◗ It has completed the installation of photovoltaic systems in 405 schools, reducing operating costs for electricity consumption and educating future generations in sustainability.
◗ The installation of photovoltaic systems in 64 camps of the National Guard, with a total capacity of 12MW, is in progress. Energy storage systems will be installed in almost all camps, while for those camps where installation is not possible due to spatial restrictions or shading, Virtual Net Metering will be applied. The National Guard, by September 2027, will take a significant step towards energy autonomy and reducing the army's environmental footprint, while enhancing sustainable development and the utilization of renewable energy sources in Cyprus.
◗ In collaboration with OKYPY, we are transforming public hospitals into energy-efficient units. After the installation of photovoltaics at the Nicosia General Hospital, we are proceeding with the installation of photovoltaics in the parking lots of the Limassol and Famagusta Hospitals. Utilizing the parking spaces, shading for citizens' vehicles is also offered, along with the energy utilization of the available spaces.
We give fuel to electromobility
Supporting e-mobility is high on our priorities. Therefore, EAC's e-charge service is deploying a robust fast and semi-fast charging network in Publicly Accessible Areas across Cyprus. At the moment, we have 42 dual charging stations, of which 4 are fast-charging, and we are planning further expansion. An additional 40 charging stations are expected to be installed by the end of 2026, including covering mountainous areas. To make charging as easy as possible, we have created a new app that allows immediate charging and payment via bank card, without the need to sign a contract and pay a subscription. Our goal is for no electric vehicle driver to feel insecure.
AHK+ Sponsorship Scheme
EAC Prometheia stands by the consumer with the "EAC+" Scheme, offering financial support for the energy upgrade of buildings and appliances. In this way, we promote the reduction of electricity consumption and at the same time enhance the energy efficiency of the EAC. The Plan provides financial support for the replacement of lighting fixtures and old air conditioners with modern, high-energy efficiency appliances, offering direct benefits to businesses, organizations and vulnerable households.
Category A – Replacement of luminaires with LED technology
It is aimed at businesses, organizations and local authorities that immediately wish to reduce their electricity consumption by upgrading their lighting. In this category, the supply of:
◗ LED Luminaires 60×60 cm, sponsored by €30 per piece
◗ Round LED Luminaires 17 cm, sponsored by €20 per piece
Category B – Replacement of air conditioners with high energy efficiency units
This category is aimed at vulnerable customers of EAC Supply (Tariff 08) and financially supports the replacement of old, energy-intensive air conditioners with new appliances of energy class A++ or A+++. The sponsorship ranges from €170 to €470 per air conditioning unit, depending on the power of the new appliance.
EAC: BY YOUR SIDE, FIRMLY AND RELIABLY
The EAC, with a stable strategy, transparency and a sense of responsibility, is evolving into a modern, green and digital organization. It responds to the demands of the time and works to deliver to the next generations a Cyprus that is energy independent, environmentally clean and financially robust. The EAC is and will remain the force that moves Cyprus forward.
