A quantity of cannabis with a gross weight of six (6) kilograms and 722 grams, was found in a postal package and confiscated by the Anti-Drug Service (YKAN).
The quantity of drugs was detected in the context of the actions carried out by YKAN to detect narcotic substances, following international cooperation with the authorities of another country, from which the package arrived in Cyprus, as well as in cooperation with the Cyprus Customs Department.
The package was found on February 25 and an inspection found that it contained six plastic packages, with cannabis with a total gross weight of six kilograms and 722 grams.

The presence and action of the Police last night was intense, throughout Cyprus, with organized patrols in key points of urban areas, with the aim of preventing serious criminal acts, ensuring public order and increasing the sense of security of the public.
As a result of the preventive policing operations, five persons were arrested, for offenses such as driving without a driver's license and under the influence of drugs and driving under the influence of alcohol (4 cases).
As part of these operations, during the night, 968 drivers and passengers were stopped and checked.
At the same time, 56 inspections of premises were carried out, with the aim of dealing with phenomena of delinquency, where five complaints emerged.
During traffic checks carried out, 234 complaints were made, concerning various traffic violations, while 16 investigated cases of traffic violations also emerged.
Of the complaints made, 133 driver complaints stand out for exceeding the speed limit, 34 for driving under the influence of alcohol and three for driving under the influence of drugs. As part of the police examinations, 21 vehicles were detained.
Coordinated policing operations, for the prevention and suppression of crime, continue daily, with an increased/enhanced police presence, targeted controls and immediate operational action, with the aim of increasing the sense of security of citizens/protecting citizens and ensuring public order.
