Weak low pressure affects the area.
A yellow warning for isolated strong storms is in force from 11:00 to 17:00, which are expected to mainly affect areas of the interior and the mountains, while they are likely to extend to the south and east coasts. In a storm, hail may fall, while the intensity of the rain may exceed 35 millimeters per hour.
Today, the weather will initially be partly cloudy and isolated light rains are not excluded, however later local rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected, mainly in the mountains, the interior and possibly the southeast coast. Snow or sleet may fall on the highest peaks of Troodos. Winds will initially be variable light, 3 Beaufort, to later become mainly southwest to northwest, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be a little rough. The temperature will rise to 17 degrees inland, around 18 on the coast and 6 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tonight, locally increased clouds will be observed from time to time. The winds will be mainly northwest, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and the sea will be a little rough. The temperature will drop to 6 degrees inland, around 9 on the south and east coasts, around 10 on the west and north coasts and to 1 degree in the higher mountains, where frost is expected to form locally.
