Spring is nearly here and with it, it brings a colourful cultural agenda. At the helm of the local art calendar is the second edition of VIMA Art Fair, which returns to Limassol’s The Warehouse by IT Quarter on May 15 to 17. There is still a while to go, yet preparations are in full swing and the organisers have now announced the details of its curatorial project and the participating global galleries.
The London-based Greek curator Kostas Stasinopoulos leads this year’s Curatorial Project. Taking the waves as his point of departure and inspiration, Stasinopoulos presents the project with a group exhibition and live programme that will see film screenings, performances, talks and more unfold during the fair. Titled The Waves Crashing, the Curatorial Project will be located mostly within the venue’s outdoor space.
As for VIMA’s galleries, the art fair will continue its mission of creating a place of discovery and exchange for international and regional galleries, art professionals, collectors and the art-loving public, and has invited around 30 galleries for the 2026 edition. Ranging from commercial to non-profit spaces, so far these include: Alpha C.K. Art Gallery, Art Seen by Maria Stathi, Diatopos Art Centre, Stand in Line – Art Space (all Nicosia, Cyprus), The Edit Gallery, eins, The Gallery 45 (all from Limassol), Balice Hertling (Paris), CAN Christina Androulidaki (Athens), Eleni Koroneou Gallery (Athens), Fragment (New York), JOEY RAMONE (Rotterdam), Kalfayan Galleries (Athens/Thessaloniki), NIKA Project Space (Dubai/ Paris), Öktem Aykut (Istanbul), pop/off/art (Baku), Sylvia Kouvali (London/Piraeus), The Third Line (Dubai) and Window Project (Tbilisi).
