SHOCK COMPLAINT FOR A RADIOLOGY CENTRE OF GESY - IT EXAMINES PEOPLE DURING THE DAY, AND ANIMALS AT NIGHT - Filenews 26/2
A serious complaint sees the light of day regarding the operation of a radiology center contracted with the GHS, which allegedly serves people, patients during the day and pets during the evening hours.
The issue was highlighted by the Alpha Cyprus TV channel, broadcasting information according to which this center, after 8 pm, in collaboration with veterinarians, accepts animals for diagnostic tests from the back entrance of the premises, so that visitors are not noticed.
The show Alpha Information presented a dialogue between a dog owner and an employee and a doctor, to schedule an MRI scan for his pet at the center. As he claims, he was given an appointment in the evening and was asked to enter through a specific, non-central entrance.
During his testimony, the center officials asked him if the dog was on a leash, in order to ensure that he would not move freely in the area. He also stated that the cost of the examination amounted to €410, an amount which, as he claims, he paid exclusively in cash.
In addition to the use of the space for animal examinations, questions are also raised about the method of payment, as according to the complaint, cash payment is requested for the services provided to pets.
So far there is no official position from the Ministry of Health.
