Almost four million euros "took wing" within six months and some in the market began to measure not only the damage, but also their reflexes. The Central Bank's report showed a 30% jump in incidents and a 66% jump in value, with cards holding the scepter in volume and credit transfers leading to losses. Much higher percentages than the rest of the EU countries.
Market leaders say the problem is not only technological. 97% of card frauds were done online, while in credit transfers the "key" was persuasion. In other words, someone persuaded someone to press the button (Here it comes in that once again we remain financially uneducated).
And if officially the levels are considered "acceptable", behind the scenes the concern is growing. Because the more the systems become stricter, the more human naivety remains the most willing accomplice.
