MAJOR ROAD WORKS
Larnaca-Famagusta Motorway
On the Larnaca-Famagusta Motorway, heading towards Famagusta, from the exit to Livadia to the exit to Oroklini, on Monday 16/02/2026, from 20:00 in the evening until 05:30 in the morning of the next day, road maintenance works will be carried out. During the works in the above section, both lanes of the motorway, heading towards Paralimni, will be closed for a distance of approximately 3 km. and traffic will be diverted throughout to the opposite traffic flow, which will operate in two-way traffic with the use of appropriate signage. The exit to Livadia will remain closed and traffic will be diverted via the exit to Oroklini with the use of appropriate signage.
Larnaca-Kofinou Motorway
On the Larnaca-Kofinou Motorway, during the period 16/02/2026-13/03/2026, between the hours of 09:00 in the morning and 05:30 in the morning of the next day, weekdays except Fridays, weekends and holidays, emergency door installation works will be carried out on the central island. During the works, a section of the motorway lane adjacent to the central island will be closed simultaneously in both directions, at five different points, from the “Kalo Chorio” roundabout to Kofinou, successively for a length of 100 meters each time.
Larnaca-Nicosia Motorway
On the Larnaca-Nicosia Motorway, in the direction of Nicosia, opposite the exit to Agia Varvara, on Monday 16/02/2026, between the hours of 09:30–12:00, work will be carried out to relocate and reinstall a sign. During the work, the left lane of the motorway will be closed locally for approximately 100 meters and traffic will be diverted to the right lane.
Nicosia Perimeter Motorway
From Monday 13/10/2025, at 07:00 in the morning and for a period of approximately 6 months, as part of the construction of the Perimeter Motorway, Nicosia Phase B3, the 2 northern lanes of the road towards the government settlements of Anthoupolis, from the junction with the Nicosia - Paleochori road for a length of 350 meters will be closed to traffic. During the execution of the works, traffic towards the government settlements of Anthoupolis and vice versa will be carried out via Agios Georgios Avenue and Orthodoxy Street. Traffic towards Andromedas Street and vice versa will be carried out in the two southern lanes with a two-way direction.
Nicosia District
In Nicosia and Aglantzia, as part of the project “Improvement of Famagusta Avenue in Nicosia”, works lasting 24 months are underway from 20 February 2025, and are expected to be completed by 22 February 2027. Specifically, they include Famagusta Avenue from its junction with Kalavryton Street to the Sopaz roundabout, approximately 1.7 km long and a secondary road network approximately 0.8 km long, consisting of a section of Kalavryton, Paphos, Madaris and Semelis streets.
Limassol District
On the Trimiklini-Platres road, near Pera Pedi, from Monday 09/02/2026 until Friday 20/02/2026, excluding weekends, from 08:00 in the morning. until 15:00 in the afternoon, tree felling works will be carried out by the Forestry Department. During the works, one lane of traffic of approximately 100m in length will be closed at any time and traffic will be managed alternately with the “STOP & GO” system with appropriate signage.
Larnaca District
On the Larnaca-Dhekelia coastal road, as part of the construction works of the Project “Improvement of the Larnaca-Dhekelia Coastal Road Phase C”, from Friday 19/12/2025 and for a period of four months, the works of the 5th and final phase of the Project will be carried out, on the section of the road from the height of the Organized Oroklini Beach (Kiosk) to the junction with Pyla. During the works, this section of the road will be closed to traffic in both directions and traffic will be diverted via Galaxia, Salaminos, Selinis and Oceanias streets, in Oroklini and Ithakis street, in Pyla. For residents and businesses in the area, appropriate arrangements will be made for access to their premises.
In Larnaca, within the framework of the Project “Priority Projects of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) of Larnaca – Implementation of Bus Lanes and Cycle Paths”, from 02/02/2026 until 15/03/2026, construction works of sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, cycle paths and flowerbeds will be carried out on the Northern Service Road of Spyros Kyprianou Avenue near the Larnaca Port Roundabout. The works will be carried out on a section of approximately 200m in length. from the junction of the northern service road of Spyros Kyprianou Avenue with Atalantis Street to the junction with Dimosthenous Street. During the works, the northern service road will be closed to traffic and traffic will be diverted to secondary roads with the use of appropriate signage. For easy access for residents and to facilitate traffic, the following necessary temporary traffic regulations will be implemented using appropriate and approved road markings:
· Removal of the one-way section of the northern service road of Spyros Kyprianou from its junction with Atalantis Street and its conversion into a dead end
· Reversal of the one-way section of the northern service road of Spyros Kyprianou from its junction with Galinis Street and its conversion into a dead end
· Reversal of the one-way section of Galinis Street from its junction with Demosthenous Street to the northern service road of Spyros Kyprianou with a permitted route towards the service road of Spyros Kyprianou
Also within the framework of the Project “Priority Projects of the Sustainable Urban Plan Mobility (SVAK) of Larnaca - Implementation of Bus Lanes and Cycle Paths”, from 13/02/2026 until 27/03/2026, works will be carried out on Fotis Kontoglou Street, which is parallel to Spyros Kyprianou Avenue. The works will be carried out on a section of approximately 40m. from the intersection of Fotis Kontoglou Street with Themidos Street. During the works, part of Fotis Kontoglou Street will be closed to traffic and traffic will be diverted to side roads with the use of appropriate signage. For the smooth passage of traffic, the one-way section of Electra Street will be removed from its junction with Fotis Kontoglou Street to the northern service road of Spyros Kyprianou, where it will become a dead end.
In Oroklini, from the height of the roundabout of Athinon Street, up to the roundabout of the Oroklini Fire Station, from Friday 13/02/2026 until Tuesday 17/02/2026, as part of the construction works of the Larnaca - Dhekelia Coastal Road Improvement Project Phase C, horizontal marking work will be carried out on the service roads on both sides of the main road and the passage of vehicles through Navarinou Streets in the Municipality of Livadia, Mesopotamia and Mediogeio in Oroklini will not be allowed.
Paphos District
In the Municipality of Paphos, as part of the Archbishop Makarios III Avenue Improvement Project, in the areas of the Municipalities of Paphos and Hierokipia (Konia), a section of Archbishop Makarios III Avenue will be closed in the area of the Municipalities of Paphos and Hierokipia, as well as in Konia, from Thursday, January 29, 2026 and for a period of approximately three months. A section of the oncoming lane of the Avenue (along its northern side) will remain closed, from its junction with Achepans Street to the junction of the Avenue with Thasos Street (Konia). The two above-mentioned lanes will operate, Thasos normally, while Achepans Street partially, since traffic will be carried out without hindrance in the uphill lane, while in the downhill lane, from the height of the intersection of the road with Vasilikon Street and up to the intersection with the avenue under improvement, ONLY ambulances will be allowed to use it. The ascent towards Konya and the wider area will be done ONLY from the highway exit for Konya. The works will start at 06.00 am on Thursday 29/01/2026 and will be completed in approximately three months from the start date.
