MAJOR ROAD WORKS

Larnaca-Famagusta Motorway


On sections of the Larnaca-Ayia Napa, Larnaca-Nicosia, and Larnaca-Kofinos motorways, in the Larnaca District, during the period 02/02/2026–13/02/2026, daily, between the hours of 08:30–15:00, excluding weekends, safety barrier maintenance work will be carried out. During the work, the left lane will be closed in sections for a length of approximately 200m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.

Periodic road maintenance works will be carried out on a section of the Larnaca Airport-Paralimni motorway, heading towards Paralimni, from the Aradippou exit to the Rizoelia roundabout, on Monday 02/02/2026, from 20:00 in the evening until 05:30 in the morning of the following day. During the works, in the above section, both lanes of the motorway will be closed, heading towards Paralimni from the Aradippou exit to the Rizoelia roundabout, for a distance of approximately 3 km. and traffic from the Kalo Chorio roundabout will be diverted throughout the duration through the Ellados, Eleftherias and Acropolis Avenues, where a connection will be made to the Rizoelia roundabout.


Larnaca-Kofinou Motorway


On sections of the motorway, during the period 12/01/2026-06/02/2026, between the hours of 09:00 in the morning and 05:30 in the morning of the following day, weekdays except Fridays and weekends, emergency door installation works will be carried out on the central island. During the works, a section of the right lane of the motorway between the "Kalo Chorio" roundabout and Kofinou will be closed, successively for a length of 100 meters each time, simultaneously from both directions, at five different points.

On sections of the Larnaca–Kofinou, Larnaca–Nicosia, and Larnaca–Ayia Napa motorways, in the Larnaca District, during the period 02/02/2026–13/02/2026, daily, between the hours of 08:30–15:00, excluding weekends, safety barrier maintenance work will be carried out. During the work, the left lane will be closed in sections for a length of approximately 200m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.


Larnaca-Nicosia Motorway


On sections of the Larnaca-Nicosia, Larnaca-Ayia Napa, and Larnaca-Kofinos motorways, in the Larnaca District, during the period 02/02/2026–13/02/2026, daily, between the hours of 08:30–15:00, excluding weekends, safety barrier maintenance work will be carried out. During the work, the left lane will be closed in sections for a length of approximately 200m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.


Limassol-Nicosia Motorway


On the Limassol-Nicosia motorway, in the direction of Nicosia, from Monday 26/01/2026 until Thursday 05/02/2026, except Fridays and weekends, between the hours of 20:00 at night and 05:30 in the morning of the next day, road marking works will be carried out. During the works, one lane of traffic will be closed at any time for a length of approximately 500m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.

On the section of the motorway near the Strovolos Industrial Area in the direction of Limassol, on Tuesday 03/02/2026, from 21:00 in the evening until 05:30 in the morning of the next day, cable installation works will be carried out. During the works, the right lane of the motorway towards Limassol will be closed for a length of approximately 1500m and traffic will be diverted through the left lanes.


Nicosia Perimeter Motorway


From Monday 13/10/2025, at 07:00 in the morning and for a period of approximately 6 months, as part of the construction of the Nicosia Perimeter Motorway, Phase B3, the 2 northern lanes of the road towards the government settlements of Anthoupolis, from the junction with the Nicosia - Paleochori road for a length of 350 meters will be closed to traffic. During the works, traffic to the government settlements of Anthoupolis and vice versa will be diverted through Agios Georgios Avenue and Orthodoxy Street. Traffic to and from Andromeda Street will be conducted on the two southern lanes with two-way traffic.


Nicosia District


In Nicosia and Aglantzia, within the framework of the project “Improvement of Famagusta Avenue in Nicosia”, works lasting 24 months are underway from 20 February 2025, which are expected to be completed by 22 February 2027. Specifically, they include Famagusta Avenue from its junction with Kalavryton Street to the Sopaz roundabout, approximately 1.7 km long and a secondary road network of approximately 0.8 km long, consisting of a section of Kalavryta, Paphos, Madaris and Semelis streets.

On the Nicosia-Palaichori road, in a section of approximately 1.5 kilometers, from Saturday 06/12/2025, traffic will be diverted via a new bypass north of the existing road in two-way traffic, due to the construction works of the Nicosia-Palaichori motorway. Also, the existing road to Agios Ioannis will be closed and traffic to Agios Ioannis will be diverted from the new junction of the road at the Malounta Roundabout. Traffic to Malounta and the 2nd Regional High School of Nicosia will be diverted from the bypass of the existing road at a point 200 meters before the Malounta Roundabout.

On the Anthoupolis-Palaichori road, in the section of approximately 1.0 km from the existing junction with the road to Agrokipia, until the end of the motorway, from Saturday 10/01/2026, traffic will be conducted through a new bypass north of the existing road in two-way traffic. Also, the existing road to Agrokipia-Mitsero will be closed and traffic will be directed from the new junction of the road to the Agrokipia roundabout.



Larnaca District


In Larnaca, on Limassol Avenue, during the period 31/12/2025-31/01/2026, sidewalk reconstruction works will be carried out, as part of the Project “Priority Projects of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) of Larnaca – Implementation of Bus Lanes and Cycle Lanes”. The works will be carried out in the section from the junction of Limassol Avenue with Charilaou Trikoupi Street to the height of Limassol Avenue near Ikarias Street. During the works, the left lane will be closed in sections, while traffic will be diverted to the right lane using appropriate and approved road markings.

On the Larnaca-Dhekelia coastal road, as part of the construction works of the Project “Improvement of the Larnaca-Dhekelia Coastal Road Phase C”, from Friday 19/12/2025 and for a period of four months, the works of the 5th and final phase of the Project will be carried out, on the section of the road from the height of the Organized Oroklini Beach (Keripteron) to the junction with Pyla. During the works, this section of the road will be closed to traffic in both directions and traffic will be diverted via Galaxia, Salaminos, Selinis and Oceanias streets, in Oroklini and Ithakis street, in Pyla. For residents and businesses in the area, appropriate arrangements will be made for access to their premises.

In Larnaca, within the framework of the Project “Priority Projects of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) of Larnaca – Implementation of Bus Lanes and Cycle Paths”, from 02/02/2026 until 15/03/2026, construction works of sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, cycle paths and flowerbeds will be carried out on the Northern Service Road of Spyros Kyprianou Avenue near the Larnaca Port Roundabout. The works will be carried out on a section of approximately 200m in length from the junction of the northern service road of Spyros Kyprianou Avenue with Atalantis Street to the junction with Dimosthenous Street. During the works, the northern service road will be closed to traffic and traffic will be diverted to secondary roads using appropriate signage. For easy access for residents and to facilitate traffic, the following necessary temporary traffic arrangements will be implemented using appropriate and approved road markings:

· Removal of the one-way section of the northern Spyros Kyprianou service road from its junction with Atalantis Street and its conversion into a dead end

· Reversal of the one-way section of the northern Spyros Kyprianou service road from its junction with Galinis Street and its conversion into a dead end

· Reversal of the one-way section of Galinis Street from its junction with Demosthenous Street to the northern Spyros Kyprianou service road with a permitted route towards the Spyros Kyprianou service road


Paphos District


On the Paphos-Polis Chrysochous road, from Wednesday From 07/01/2026 until Monday 09/02/2026, including weekends, work will be carried out to replace safety barriers on bridges, near the Communities of Stroumbi, Miliou, Kato Akourdalia and Skoulli. During the work, one lane will be closed and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, which will operate in two-way traffic, using a temporary mobile traffic light system.

On the Nikoklia-Filoussa road, near the Community of Salami, from Monday 02/02/2026 until Monday 09/02/2026, including the weekend, work will be carried out to clean the road excavation slope from loose pieces of rock. During the work, to protect workers and vehicles, due to falling rocks or other objects, the Nikoklia-Filoussa road will be closed. Traffic from the Nikoklia-Filoussa road towards the communities of Salamiou, Mesana and Arminou will be diverted via a detour from the Nikoklia-Agios Nikolaos-Mandria road, near the village of Prastiou, through the village of Trachypedoula.

In the Municipality of Paphos, within the framework of the Project for the improvement of Archbishop Makarios III Avenue, in the areas of the Municipalities of Paphos and Hierokipia (Konia), a section of Archbishop Makarios III Avenue will be closed in the area of ​​the Municipalities of Paphos and Hierokipia, as well as in Konia, from Thursday, January 29, 2026 and for a period of approximately three months. A part of the uphill lane of the Avenue (along its northern side) will remain closed, from its junction with Achepans Street to the junction of the avenue with Thasou Street (Konia). The two above-mentioned lanes will operate, Thasou Street normally, while Achepans Street partially, since traffic will be carried out unhindered on the uphill lane, while on the downhill lane, from the height of the junction of the street with Vasilikon Street and up to the junction with the avenue under improvement, ONLY ambulances will be allowed to use it. The uphill towards Konia and the wider area will be done ONLY from the motorway exit for Konia. The works will start at 06.00 am on Thursday 29/01/2026 and will be completed in approximately three months from the start date.
