KING CARNIVAL GRAND ENTRANCE
Griva Digeni Avenue
12 February - 5pm
Pafitiko Carnival 2026 returns dynamically filling the city with color, imagination, music and non-stop fun.
"The King of the Enchanted Forest" makes his solemn entrance to Pafos, at 17.00, accompanied by the Danceroom Jake Athanasiades Dance School, the Philharmonic of the Music School and the Pafos Cheerleaders of the Konstantina Hadzieftychio Dance Academy.
The procession will move to Avenue G. Griva Digeni, will pass through Kennedy Square in Makariou and end up at Hani of Ibrahim and Gendi of Chiknopepti!
The curtain of the Paphitic Carnival opens with an impressive start that doesn't end at the entrance of the Carnival King, but continues with a great party in the city center, in the "enchanted forest"!
Once upon a time, where today Paphos stretches with its streets, squares and lights, there used to be an Enchanted Forest.
His guardian was a strange king who wore no crown but leaves and light. Reign with imagination, kindness, and freedom. His law was one: never lose laughter, fun and love for nature and man.
Over the years, however, the beats became fast. People started to run so much that they forgot to laugh together. And then the King realized he had to reappear. Not to rule but to remind.
So, once a year, when Halloween approaches, it transforms streets into paths of joy, worries into music, and seriousness into satire. He calls us to wear masks, not to hide, but to remember who we really are.
Because carnival is not an escape from everyday life. It's a pause. It is the "now" where the city becomes a big company, brighter, more human, more real.
The King of the Enchanted Forest does not ask us to follow him. He calls us to remember: that joy is power, that diversity is wealth, and that when we share our light, an entire city can be transformed.
And while Paphos fills music, colors and common feast, the magic of the Enchanted Forest awakens, not as a fairy tale, but as a celebration. But as a reminder.
